There ya go... www.msn.com/en-nz/news/world/magma-shift-may-have-caused-mysterious-seismic-wave-event/ar-BBQjNSA?li=BBqdg4KSo if you take this as gospel and a huge undersea magna chamber suddenly emptied and collapsed it poses a couple of questions... 1. Where and why did the magna go? Greater minds than mine will work on this... 2. If enough magna departs and creates a large enough undersea void which in turn collapses and (presumably) fills with rock and above that ocean isnt that a perfect recipe for a megatsunami? Undersea chasms/earthquakes have resulted in this previously I believe (think Japan here...and not a big tsunami on the scale of 'big' tsunami I might add...) so does the West coast of Australia have EW capability for water movement of this nature? 3. Has this happened before and were the results as described in Question 2? Is there evidence of this having occured in a big scale (and Im thinking of the Siberia CO2 gas bursts here as the permafrost retreats as an example...) Just a sweet thought for the day...
