I wonder if it's got anything to do with the middle class never seeming to get ahead...despite desperately trying to do (or not do) everything they are told will get them ahead(and/or their kids)...
Instead they watch the bottom feeders get handouts, the criminals get off and the wealthy do sweat FA (think Kardashians Frosty lol) for huge returns while avoiding tax...
Ah well back to looking for a job, lol...

Everyone is sick of the socialist PC society that has taken over the western world. This as well as the greater divide between the rich and the working class all culminate to most people who can think for themselves wanting to escape this every left leaning world. Politicians that don't care for the people and only work to feather their nests at the UN for a posting once they retire from politics.
The whole climate change thing is the vessel that the socialist are using to secretly spread their way through society. See how many sheeple take to the streets in the name of climate change when even NASA is saying that the numbers don't add up and Australia's heat records back 100yrs were edited to make the recent heat waves look worse then they actually were. You have the Qld government putting all the blame of the recent major bush fires at the feet of climate change and not the vegetation management laws they forced through to stop farmers from maintaining their land or their own gov departments for not maintaining the state/national parks/forests for the last decade that allowed the massive fuel load to be left alone. And this socialist vessel is working, with extreme left groups like getup able to brainwash hundreds of school kids around the country to take to the streets to demand an end to coal mining just makes the blood boil.

I’m am definitely not a socialist,a heavily right leaning libertarian best describes my political persuasion.
I also know I am unlikely to change your mind about climate change.
But for what it is worth as a right leaning libertarian I am genuinely concerned about climate change - it has driven a significant proportion of my preps and strategies - granted most are multi-scenario, but it isn’t a great global left wing conspiracy. Some aspects of it have been hijacked to push agendas, but 99% of climate scientists and meteorologists support the broad theory. There is a huge body of peer reviewed literature supporting it. Of the literally thousands of articles published in the last few years only a handful have been retracted or proven wrong - which compares favourable with every other scientific disciplines rates for dodgy papers - but somehow if it’s a climate change article which is pulled it becomes proof the whole thing is a scam. Just about every big event is multi-factorial and politicians are always selective with the truth so that combination means Climate change has become a catch all cause to blame but the fact idiot politicians are using it as an excuse to cover there own incompetence doesn’t make it any less real.
Don’t mean to ruffle any feathers, but I think making pretty straight forward science into a left / right, liberal / conservative isssue doesn’t do it justice. I have said it here before but I am genuinely and profoundly concerned about the implications of climate change. Between climate change, resource deletion (peak everything), ecosystem destruction and the human footprint (over population) we are fuc&ed.

As frost said, due to my geographic location, super storms and cyclones are my main motivation to prep as they are a clear and present danger to me. The other things such as financial collapse fall to the background of that

Yes, the climate is changing. It always has, and it always will. For example, wheat was once farmed in Greenland...
No, I do not believe that humans are responsible for climate change. For example, the Icelandic volcano a few years back was said to have put more CO2 into the atmosphere than the entirety of humans throughout history.
And yes, it's being used as a political tool by the left, from the UN down to local government.
So while it is something we must prepare for, we shouldn't believe the hype of govt or the rantings of the left. The fact that governments all over the world make such a fuss about "climate policies" based around this should be cause for concern. To quote Ronald Reagan, "The nine most terrifying words in the English language are "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help."

www.cabinetmagazine.org/issues/42/wiles.phpAn ominous experiment in the psychology of animals. I reckon humans are on this path. Some countries and settings more advanced than others. Key excerpts below but worth reading the whole article. "There was no scarcity of food and water in Calhoun’s universe. The only thing that was in short supply was space. This was, after all, “heaven”—a title Calhoun deliberately used with pitch-black irony. The point was that crowding itself could destroy a society before famine even got a chance. In Calhoun’s heaven, hell was other mice. Mice found themselves born into a world that was more crowded every day, and there were far more mice than meaningful social roles. With more and more peers to defend against, males found it difficult and stressful to defend their territory, so they abandoned the activity. Normal social discourse within the mouse community broke down, and with it the ability of mice to form social bonds. The failures and dropouts congregated in large groups in the middle of the enclosure, their listless withdrawal occasionally interrupted by spasms and waves of pointless violence. The victims of these random attacks became attackers. Left on their own in nests subject to invasion, nursing females attacked their own young. Procreation slumped, infant abandonment and mortality soared. Lone females retreated to isolated nesting boxes on penthouse levels. Other males, a group Calhoun termed “the beautiful ones,” never sought sex and never fought—they just ate, slept, and groomed, wrapped in narcissistic introspection. Elsewhere, cannibalism, pansexualism, and violence became endemic. Mouse society had collapsed. On day 560, a little more than eighteen months into the experiment, the population peaked at 2,200 mice and its growth ceased. A few mice survived past weaning until day six hundred, after which there were few pregnancies and no surviving young. As the population had ceased to regenerate itself, its path to extinction was clear. There would be no recovery, not even after numbers had dwindled back to those of the heady early days of the Universe. The mice had lost the capacity to rebuild their numbers—many of the mice that could still conceive, such as the “beautiful ones” and their secluded singleton female counterparts, had lost the social ability to do so. In a way, the creatures had ceased to be mice long before their death—a “first death,” as Calhoun put it, ruining their spirit and their society as thoroughly as the later “second death” of the physical body."

There it is, there is the answer...too many people...
I have no arguement with society, industrialisation, advancement in technology medicine or science...
Just to many people...
And unfortunately the vast majority of humankind across all races, creeds and colours and religions are of an opinion that 1) it is their right to populate, and (possibly more importantly) 2) its is their right to believe they are the most important thing in the universe...
What small minded and arrogant creatures (to the point of extinction) we are...
The mice probably lasted longer...
