THis is the kind of food stuff we need in Aus. Costco Can't Keep Its 27lb "Emergency" Mac-And-Cheese Bucket In Stockwww.zerohedge.com/news/2019-01-11/costco-cant-keep-its-27lb-emergency-mac-and-cheese-bucket-stockJust when you thought the country couldn't get any more gluttonous, Costco has "blessed" its customers, according to the NY Post, with the massive "storage bucket" of macaroni and cheese. It contains 180 servings and six gallons worth of separate pouches of elbow pasta and cheddar cheese sauce. It sells for $89.99.
But don’t get this confused with any old grocery purchase – it’s listed on the company’s website under the category of "Emergency Kits and Supplies". The reason? You can amortize your $89.99 purchase over the course of two decades, as the product has an astonishing listed shelf life of 20 years. This is sure to make it a mainstay in millennial's parents' basements bomb shelters and underground bunkers nationwide.
People Magazine also noted you can even fit “100 baseballs, half a bale of hay or your average 3-year-old child” in the bucket when you're done with it. That's the gift that could keep on giving well after 20 years has passed.

That stuff is calorie rich and can be the basis of lots of different dishes. Throw in some wild hog, some beans and greens and you have a good meal.

Fit, healthy individuals don't need to store or eat crap like this! When you eat healthy you will naturally eat less and then eat less frequently, the cravings to eat constantly just go away! Quite simply it's about nutrition not pouring in guttage especially in a survival situation!

Basically, when you're buying storage foods, you're buying calories. All your vitamin needs can be taken care of with one pill per day.

There's lots of calories per unit weight in lard. I don't think it makes the centrepiece of a diet though. Although in artic environments it might.

I consume a McDonalds burger maybe once a month when I'm out travelling. I always feel like I have high blood pressure for a few hours afterwards which I put down to that weird cheese product they put in them. I assume that the cheese sauce in these buckets of death would be similar?

I assume that the cheese sauce in these buckets of death would be similar? I have posted on this topic numerous times before. Carbs are cheap easy and safe to store. Carbs are the most difficult thing to get in nature, there are plenty of weeds and plants that have vitamins and minerals but take more calories to harvest prepare and digest than what they provide. Meat and protein is also fairly easy to obtain - just get an air rifle, there are plenty of birds. The big issue with carbs and putting on body weight causing heart attacks etc is due to our lifestyles, using motorised transport to get to places, electricity for cooking and air-conditioning. Come SHTF a lot more manual labour will be required, it will be walking or cycling, riding horse to get to places. Go hunting and shoot an animal it will have to be carried back. It has been proven that very active people or athletes can eat McDonalds every day of the week and not have fatty tissue build up. What are you guys prepping for an end of world event where you will have numerous slaves to do all the work for you....

What are you guys prepping for an end of world event where you will have numerous slaves to do all the work for you.... And the problem........is? Actually there might be a problem........ You should start by getting a third or forth wife and you can start living the dream now.... The main prep you forgot is that your slaves will become lethargic and revolt unless you feed them high energy foods. You need at minimum of $10,000 of the super size cheese and mac to feed the buggers or is it Japanese style and you just work them to death and then get new ones, not a very sustainable strategy....

What are you guys prepping for an end of world event where you will have numerous slaves to do all the work for you.... What I'm prepping for is an event where I don't eat fake cheese. Won't need slaves ... but they are welcome to apply for a position as a Serf. I agree that cheese wouldn't make one obese in a world where hard labour is the norm. But whatever is in that stuff is not good to put in your body.
