I guess Zombies could fall under bioterrorism, or a result of mutation from Nuclear Armageddon or nanoweapons perhaps.

If we do have an Apocalypse, I hope its Zombies. None of the others sound like much fun. (although I'd probably bet on over population getting us (if we can't get off Earth) or atleast over population being a cause for war leading to our end)

Russia has been encircled by NATO, further than NATO had agreed to come to the geographical borders of Russia.

China has steadily increased their leasing of a number of major sea ports around the globe, even the port in Darwin has been leased to China. To what detriment will this cause us and our allies in a major conflict with China and its allies, which include N/Korea and Russia.

Global war...already we have cyber wars, currency wars, trade wars, sanctions on other nations, hot wars in M/East, tensions regarding the Sprately Islands, Pakistan and India are butting heads often enough - with India not far behind China in size of population, could be a long protracted head butting experience going forward for Pakistan and India.

Cyprus saw a bank run, as did Greece not that long ago...Port of Piraeus in Greece is now also leased by the Chinese, as are some other seaports in USA....and on it goes.

MAD - mutually assured destruction. The pawns/pieces/missiles are already set in place for such an event. The technology now available for military nucleaur powered subs to deliver missiles from way off shore will leave little room for reaction from the other side.

The ongoing Ebola issue, for many years now in the Congo, is still in its refining stages, once 'they' get it right, it may delay the infected person's death more than it is now, to allow for more infection to be spread, further and thus be more devastating. As it is, the infected now are dying fast, before they can travel far enough to spread it as far as 'they' may prefer. Even those caregivers, in their full protective suits, were somehow still infected, fatally. If not via droplet infection, then how did the bio germ infiltrate through the breathing appartus and protective overall body suits. Very strange.

If there is an outbreak, have water and a way to safely filter a reserve cache, anything outside may be subjected to fallout in the atmosphere. Food and a battery radio and rechargeable batteries to keep info coming in. Quarantine will be a practical way to avoid being part of the sick. However, have to insure a safe way to have new comers, family members etc who only arrive after an event - to be housed in a separate dwelling, a caravan or large tent, with their own separate kitchen/bath/living room supplies...40 days may seem a long time for a quarantine period, however, unless one knows just what one is dealing with, will not know the specific number of days to remain in Quarantine. 40 days is the outer limit that I know I could do...let some in too early, and before one knows it, infection may become rampant again. For all we know some people may be carriers, show no symptoms and the bio-germ could also set itself to an active and then inactive/dormant state. Prudence will be needed in such times.

For those who have read parts of the bible, seems a 1/3rd will fall by the sword, another 1/3rd by famine and last 1/3rd by the pestilence. That is a huge number, given we are at circa 7B globally. No matter what, avoiding unsanitary areas of towns/populations, having access to clean food and water, adequate shelter and a means of procuring more, and a way to protect you and yours, with good mobility and flexibility in one's future plans, will stand us in good stead, whether we have a global crash/war or not. As it will prevent the sharp ups and downs that the financial depressions, and stock market crashes that happen, will affect the wider community.

Probably us? I'm waiting to see what the RBA, Gov and commercial banks throw at housing to keep it pumped.

The asteroid’s official name is 99942 Apophis. It is a 1,110-foot-wide asteroid named after the Egyptian god of chaos. It will fly as close to the Earth as some of the orbiting spacecraft panicking scientists.

99942 Apophis will come within 19,000 miles of Earth on April 13, a decade from now, but scientists at the Planetary Defense Conference are already preparing for the encounter, Newsweek reported. They plan to discuss the asteroid’s effects on Earth’s gravity, potential research opportunities and even how to deflect an incoming asteroid in a theoretical scenario.

Anyone noticed that all the major players are buying weapons like there's no tomorrow?

China is building aircraft carriers, lasers, hypersonic missiles and stealth fighters. Russia is building hypersonic missiles and nuclear capable drone subs. The US is building laser missile defence systems, drone fighter aircraft and patrol boats and hypersonic missiles.

The big 3 are butting heads over money and territory whilst arming up. India is playing catchup and wants to join the big league.

All it needs is someone to strike a match.
