But despite the lack of Opsec, he came across as sensible and sane and not some fringe nutter. TT gave him a fair go which was a surprise.
Two tabloid news show painting preppers in a half decent light..... should we be worried?

Probably. If 'the system' is suggesting that having some extra supplies is a good thing ... supply chain disruption may not be too far off.

My understanding is Australia has 203 weeks of fuel at any one time. If there was a rush on fuel due to a rumour/event. One day and fuel will be sold out and Gov will confiscate everything left in the servos and supply depots..

I suppose if reserves are higher than normal it could mean 'the system' anticipates increased risk of disruption in future? Best we look that up I think!

Had an interesting chat today with a seafood supplier to China. They are worried, the Chinese NEVER pay late - now they have a LOT of overdue bills. He's not one to worry, but, as he said, this is really, really odd.

That IS interesting. I assume he means a lot of overdue bills from different chinese businesses? Not just a single business?

Two tabloid news show painting preppers in a half decent light..... should we be worried? The media is fascinated and at the same time weirdly obsessed with the subjects of prepping, survivalism, self-defence hunting and firearms etc! The poor bastards aren't sure if they should remain anti in their reporting / portrayal and so indirectly advocate for tougher control on individual self-sufficiency or go the other way and join the club! Their interest stems from them knowing deep down that SHTF is coming!

Airing segments like this, where they don't portray him as a nutter and allow him to get his message across about natural disasters and the need for everyone to have at least a plan, some supplies and a go bag packed may be the media's subtle way of encouraging and supporting being prepared without being too obvious about it because they can see something coming.
