Scenario:
TSHTF and everything is out of control.
The govt comes to your door with a weeks supply of goods for you and your family.
Do you take it???
If you don't, you feed an extra family, BUT, they now know you are self sufficient, and may come to seize your goods later on.
If you do take it, you take away food from another needy family, AND, why have you prepared in the first place??
Your thoughts!

take it, sort it, find out what looks tampered with and then give what remains to a neighbor with a warning
yea tin foil hat stuff but "the scariest words in the English language are we are from the government and we're here to help"

im with phenoix tbh. id take it (further blending with the masses, plus the chance at extra supplies to make mine stretch out even further!), but be very suspicious of letting them in for one, and of contamination, whether intentional or by negligence for another. anything questionable i would leave in a public place late at night with a warning. if others want it, they can know the risk theyre taking.

And sure, trade it or similar for those who require it. Much like I would trade some seeds and share some knowledge about growing veggies without fertiliser with my neighbours, it helps build trust and respect for one another.

Agreed. OPSEC is a major concern in this scenario. I would indeed take the supplies and play dumb. You may indeed be taking the supplies from another family, but you need to look after yourself first.
