He says 49% chance the world as we know it will collapse by 2050? I guess that depends on the definitions of 'as we know it' and 'collapse'.
I laughed when I saw his view of how 'well' California is doing in tackling the 'crises'. Clearly the rise in homelessness and the economic emigration of the middle class to other states doesn't bother him.

A couple of weeks ago I spent a large sum of money on house/contents insurance. Not because I believe my house is going to burn down in the next 12 months, but because my house represents a substantial investment that is worth protecting.
My preps are an insurance policy designed to protect something much more valuable, the lives of myself and my family, against an event as unlikely as that which my house, my car, my furniture are insured for.
