Trump seems pretty oblivious to the foreign policy ramifications of his actions. I can imagine the Kurdish fighters who were allied with the US are thinking 'With friends like the US who needs enemies?'
I dealt with some Turkish officers on NATO related matters over a period of time and visited Turkey for some NATO meetings, the people I met were pretty switched on and their forces were well equipped. They have a respectable capability to take action against the Kurds if Erdogan took them down that route.

Find it sad listening to people being upset that Trump is pulling forces out of a foreign country. Most of the time these same people complain why they're there in the first place.

Turkey has a solid history of conducting ethnic cleansing of non-turks. There's no reason to suspect this will be any different.

The Turks want to reins the Ottoman empire, taking out the smaller opposition first is logical. It is a biblical prophecy that 'In the last days Syria will be a ruinous heap', the second largest NATO army directed by a dictator with no human rights can only end badly. |
