For anyone without a genset, having one of those power packs is a really good move.
Having experienced a 3.5 day grid outage my top picks for things to have (apart from the obvious stocks of water and food) are: 1. Fuel. Plenty of it! Servos all use electric pumps and it was a surprise to find out that none in my area had any means of supplying them with back-up power. Lots of folks had small gensets they used for camping ... but almost none were running due to lack of fuel. 2. A small genset. Great for keeping fridges and freezers going and supplying light. I only ran mine for about 5 hours every 24. One hour in morning and 4 in the evening. 3. A large capacity water boiler. Gas or wood fired. Cold baths really suck in winter! Abundant hot water is great for morale.
