All jerries and 2 tanks filled. Bring it on. On a longer term view, I hope high prices stay. We need to break our addiction to burning oil. Switch to electric vehicles and watch the middle eastern bigotted theocrats go bankrupt. That would be a great day.

Well I saw it go up more than 30c in 3 days here.
Same fuel, same station. 95 went from 1.52c to 1.85c on Friday. Not that I really care since I don't pay for it anyway but its a joke that it can change so much so quickly these days.

I can see fuel thefts becoming a more common thing. People will go around with drills/screwdrivers tapping fuel tanks in driveways more often.

I own an older style station wagon that came with a non lockable fuel cap . Bought a lockable fuel cap and have not had issues since, but i suppose if push comes to shove they can just use a cordless drill like you say to get the fuel cap off. The cap itself just looks like cheap abs plastic with a stock barrel lock, more of a deterrent than anything else id say.

Every since this was mentioned I've been watching a bit more closely.
E10 has only gone up 2 cents in the last bit. Winter blend diesel has actually gone down 4-5 cents since the first blended fuel was available this fall.
A guy down the road from us had an elevated farm fuel barrel that was being stolen from. It was the oldest of his fuel barrels and he was trying to get it empty to not use anymore. So when it got down to a low point, he mixed a small amount of fuel cocktail for the thief to use. A mix of diesel, gas, anti freeze, sugar, dish soap, you name it. All mixed well and left available.
Not long after a big fancy, expensive pickup belonging to a young hoodlum want-to-be young guy from farther down the road, who was well on his way to a repossession, was found in the ditch with expired license plates, no insurance, multiple missed payments, revoked drivers license, you name it.
The motor was totally destroyed. Worked out well it seems to me.

After realising fuel was missing, the Police stopped his worker in his car, bled off some diesel, I mean, pink dishwashing detergent. He never lost fuel after that! Oh, and he got to hire a new worker too!

i’m imagining 2.00$ per litre in 2020. They already hit 1.90 in metro sydney this year in a few areas for the “premiums” 95,98 octane. People were still buying it, 1 minute segment on the news about high fuel prices, nobody really blinked an eye. A sign that it’ll become the new norm soon

At $2 or more a liter, some liberal, green, agenda type people are applauding this... Saying things like, people should use more mass, public transit yak, yak yak... That is great from there condo with the lawn, pool and all manicured by someone else.
How do they thing the ground gets plowed that raises there soy tofu, or how it gets delivered to there neighborhood bistro ??
Wait... You mean it just doesn't appear on a black plastic, film wrapped container ??
Don't get me started....

I suspect that the future of traffic here looks like 1980's Thailand: Lots of bicycles and small motorbikes with a scattering of large trucks. Although the use of electric mobility scooters as 'cars' seems to be a new trend.
