2020-02-04......... HAMMERED......
Up this morning to find we have about 40-50 cm new snow... Plus a south, south east wind to move it.. Was up at 04;00 this morning to see snow in the yard light by the donkey barn, but could not tell how bad it was...
Mountain passes west, north of us are closed... Storm is moving east to the pass that way into Alberta.. Pass on the south end of the plateau, where MIL lives is expected to go closed, again, shortly.. We don't care I guess, as no place we need to be..
Back in the house for my 3 rd hand warm up, and a cup of tea.. Like the old bush rat we have for our closest neighbor says... Not many skeeters out now... eh....

We're in the middle of summer. It's cloudy, rainy and cold.

Worked my tail off today blowing snow with the tractor.. Only 3-5 cm predicted any day of the 10 day forecast.. I will have to clear the mess at the end of the driveway when the regional grader goes through..

Is this normal for the area ?? Normal for the season ?? Are the fire areas getting any rain ?? Too much rain ?? Flooding ?? land slides and all that ??

We haven't had the fires affect us too much up in this part of the state. I believe the rain is the residual effect of 2 cyclones we've recently had in the north of the country coupled with the monsoon season. This time of year we have just entered the start of the "storm" and cyclone season so we will start getting our rain.
