I'm pretty sure in Australia ... farming ... is at the top of the workplace injury/danger list! I should spend my days wearing full body armour, chain mail, a motorcross helmet, 5 point safety harness and life-line ... you know ... just to be "safe". Safety culture will be a quaint memory when the Chinese occupation forces arrive here one day to secure our minerals and energy supplies for their economy. At that point ... the robust survivors will be wandering around in the desert in dull coloured board-shorts and T-shirts toting AK's and RPG's and looking for enemy patrols to ambush for re-supply. They will take hits and die. Maybe instantly ... maybe after a few hours or days of screaming in pain. The safety conscious will be meekly starving behind wire, dumped in pits sprinkled with lime or hiding in sewers and caves and living on detritus - waiting fearfully for the end to arrive. The state of extreme softness and physical risk aversion of our population is deeply concerning considering what lies in wait for us. In that respect ... I like the kids who are into extreme sports where taking risks and getting hurt is a common occurence. Yes! Farming, Logging, Fishing are always right at the top!

Doing a trip out into the southern ocean on a fishing trawler, in heavy weather, is on my bucket list!!!
Must do it soon! We have a big fleet of blue water fishing vessels here ... lots of opportunity!

Interesting. I don't read news.com.au for news, I read it for bias (as I do with most MSM lol). But the fact that they're reporting that there's people using it as a chance to cause chaos is pretty reasonable. Far-right extremists hijacked tradie Covid anger to fuel chaos and groom new recruits, expert claimsNow I don't doubt that tradies are a large portion of the group... But I also don't doubt that just as many are right wing nut jobs are co-opting and causing civil unrest simply for the sake of it. A large chunk of these dOn'T tReAd On mE types are going to use every opportunity to seed unrest and cause anarchy simply because they want to watch the world burn. They're taking advantage of the moment to be as disruptive as possible. First person to spot a Proud Boy in that group doesn't get a case of beer cause there's no doubt at all that the bloody lot of those bogan morons are in that crowd. My opinion of protesting is pretty simple. It's a freedom that everyone should have to do so safely and respectfully. Stay out of the Shrine, ffs. Protest in locations that don't further disadvantage people who're already disadvantaged (ie. don't block main arterial roads that prevent people from getting to their own workplaces when they have NOTHING to do with what you're protesting. You're as bad as the people that are 'stopping' you from working if you do!). Keep the protest to the places where the people who can change the situation are. But most importantly, if you're a prepper, survivalist or whatever, avoid protests like the damn plague. It puts you on radars, in the way of danger, and potentially as bad as the people who cause your own ills because you're impacting on others.

"Another way to understand the protests is that they are a symptom of many people becoming exasperated with Dictator Dan's endless lockdowns, often ordered for spurious reasons, because he can, and because he seems to enjoy the resulting conflict and chaos. A true leader, if he really believes lockdowns are needed, at least would show solidarity with those losing freedoms, wages, livelihoods and businesses, by refusing to take his own (taxpayer-funded) payments for the duration of each lockdown.
And so should all his head-nodding government colleagues, and also the compliant braying media jackasses (especially from the ABC), and also those hectoring, lecturing public servants who daily wag their fingers at the populace in the name of "science", when all they really care about is moving statistics (you and me) from the unvaccinated tally to the vaccinated.
I think there is a rising perception among people of there now being a privileged Covid class (politicians, public servants, media, sports elite, academics, the rich and famous), against the underprivileged general citizenry who are to be ordered about and herded into tightly controlled enclaves and issued with vaccination status papers. And meanwhile, the government debt soars and the social wreckage spreads."

I put the blame at the government response to the demonstrations.
The people are peacefully demonstrating then they try and break it up so move to another area and eventually end up on the highway. The next day the demonstrate at a war memorial not damaging anything - authorities come in with riot gear tear gas rubber bullets and try and break it up. So they move on again, just let them be nothing will happen the world wont stop spinning...
The woke media and public cant possible believe that the average Australian is fed up so they demonize the construction workers - they are altra-right trying to destroy the country etc. etc... No they are just demonstrating for right to work and make decisions about their own health.

To add fuel to the fire: I have been waiting for a pump from WA for almost 2 months usually within 10 days, cant get deliver. Site maintenance guys tell me it is all over big wait for spares from W-Track etc.. Major strike action will halt Australian deliveries from today, as 6,000 StarTrack and FedEx workers stand downwww.businessinsider.com.au/startrack-australia-post-strike-fedexThousands of logistics and delivery workers will walk off the job from Thursday as negotiations break down with the Transport Workers Union (TWU). The Fair Work Commission has approved a 24-hour strike against Australia Post subsidiary StarTrack surrounding a long-running dispute over the use of labour hire firms. Another is scheduled against FedEx next Thursday, bringing the total number of striking workers to 6,000.Almost time to panick prep.... <<<>>>>

I've been holding my own industrial action against Post for 6 months. I refuse to deliver more than two thirds of my work, because they expect me to do 60 plus hours a week, and they are too dumb to manage me properly, so they pay someone else to finish my work, often on double time on a weekend.
In 23 years I never met a Post manager who knew anything about leading people.

All livestream Melbourne protest coverage on Facebook, Youtube, Instagram etc etc has been blocked!! Independent journalists reporting with periodic video clip uploads are being suspended or banned in what appears to be a co-ordinated response from Social Media Companies! Numbers were trending to be bigger than yesterday I watched this myself before the feeds were taken out! MSM news channels have been told by Vic Police to delay all telecast of news by 1 hour or face consequences! MSM news channels have gone to Federal Court to overturn the illegal grounding of their choppers and they won!
"I watched this myself before the feeds were taken out!" - Have just learned this could've been video from yesterday!
This Is Radio Free Australia.............OUT!

Not sure what's going on there. I'm seeing plenty of coverage from all MSM and quite a few minor ones as well on my feeds. From both sides of the opinion fence.

The woke media and public cant possible believe that the average Australian is fed up so they demonize the construction workers - they are altra-right trying to destroy the country etc. etc... No they are just demonstrating for right to work and make decisions about their own health. Actually that's patently untrue. I watched a live stream of the memorial protest and guess what I saw. Angry bogans throwing their rubbish everywhere, kicking at plants and anything else that they think they could damage, and then I caught a glimpse of an individual (can't say whether he was a tradie or just a protest-for-the-sake-of-protesting type) pissing on a wall of the memorial! Sacred ground. HOLY ground, to some. The disrespect in that protest was clear to anyone that saw what was going on. Rubber bullets were excessive if you only discount the behaviour of the protestors. If they behaved well then it was way out of line. I don't think anyone believes that and from what I saw that certainly wasn't the case. At a certain point anything that wasn't nailed down was turfed at them with the expressed intent of causing injury. Do I think the majority of legitimate tradies were responsible for that kind of thing? Honestly? It's unlikely. They are angry and frustrated yes. But they're also trying to get a message out and beating up on cops doesn't really achieve that. But when it comes to those who're there to fight rather than protest? Leave them alone and they escalate. Windows start getting smashed. Local businesses start to suffer. Bystanders get hurt. There's never a situation where a crowd of angry people won't go further if left to their own devices. People are stupid animals. A police presence is appropriate. I think you've confused what I'm saying. I'm not saying the tradies are ultra-right trying to destroy the country. I'm saying there's a more than good chance that their efforts were being co-opted by the ultra-right. It's got nothing to do with being woke and everything to do with thinking critically. Evidence from social media. A traditionally right-leaning 'media' outlet (news.com.au isn't exactly what I'd call media, but a lot do) reporting that there's evidence of ultra-right infiltration. The obvious connection that where there's smoke, there's usually fire shouldn't take much effort on the part of anyone that's willing to look at a situation impassively. Even tradies in social media groups are starting to recognise that there are people there who're just stirring trouble. I saw a post from someone requesting that people who couldn't prove their legitimacy as a tradeworker be removed from protest organisation groups because they know that there's idiots in the jungle. I hope they were listened to so that their message actually achieves what they want rather than the whole thing being completely passed off as people looking for a fight rather than people looking for a fair go.

Victoria Police censored 'vital' media coverage of Melbourne protests
"Victoria Police censored vital media coverage of Melbourne's protests by banning the live-streaming of aerial footage, according to Digital Editor Jack Houghton.
On Wednesday the Civil Aviation Safety Authority approved a Victoria Police ban of all helicopters bar their own flying over Melbourne CBD.
"A media blackout," Mr Houghton said.
"A pathetic attempt by an over-zealous police force which lost control of its own city.
"You deserve to know what's happening in your city every moment of every day, and in my experience, police only ever want you to stop filming when they are worried about stuffing something up." .........................SKY NEWS AUSTRALIA

Calls for International Intervention to protect Aussies from Police Brutality & Government Terror
Due to her current work posting one of my daughters is required to live in the suburb of Guildford, so I get daily reports of what's going on there and it's ugly! Police violence has become more and more random as time has moved on especially against mostly passive bystanders! Checkout Guildford in this AUSSIE COSSACK video:-

That video is age restricted norseman, which means i would need to be a member of google which i wont do. Maybe another more freedom respecting video streaming website hosts his video's. I expect aussie cossack will be censored even more going forward, this is a first step for youtube/google, then they will just ban his channel.

If you go into Youtube (not through Google) it is there to see for everyone! I am banned from Youtube but can still view Youtube videos through the back door.

You can get "newpipe", look up Aussie Cossak and watch it that way. Newpipe is probably my most used app after my browser app. It pulls in any video thats on YouTube without logging in ... and no ads!
