Now i post this with a degree of apprehension because i don't really like to feed the anti authority sentiment but i think in this case its something that should be noted Now i get it the police are in a rock and a hard place a lot of the time they have a job to do even if at times it doesn't sit all that well with them however its a very quick slide into embracing an over authoritative stance where the change from protective and community policing gives way to outright police state enforcement this instance highlights that slide into how quickly simple compliance check becomes authoritarian state tactics I do understand we only have one side of this story but there is a steady flow of similar instances happening for no reason so how long before people start to get pissed off especially as more economic pressure get applied and people start to have less and less to lose www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/daughter-shares-heartbreak-as-armed-police-storm-funeral/ar-BB12AGpi?ocid=msedgdhp

Typical 9 news sensationalising the storey. “Stormed” uh no, “Armed” yes but business as usual. They are armed when they stuff their faces with maccas too. Part of the uniform.
The police force is deliberately looking more paramilitary with many of their uniforms and you have to wonder why. Sourcing M4s is another recent development towards the paramilitary look and response. Look at the US and their policing responses, equipment and armoury and you have to breathe a sigh of relief we are not like that.....yet.

A very highly regarded NSW Cop (within his professional area) who is also a good mate of mine presented one day wearing the new paramilitary style uniform and we all including him burst out laughing! He came back straight away with "boys stop laughing the new uniform and accoutrements are for "Enhanced Officer Survivability" !! The militarisation of our "Police Force" is bloody tragic and totally not required!! Further to add and disregarding the overblown headline these police are pathetic for what they've done and should be condemned for their insensitive behaviour. Back in the day we did call them total dickheads now they are just Victorian Police!

Did I just read that correctly?
Norseman and a cop are good mate's?
Bloody hell, the world has turned upside down. Before long you'll be sipping latte and eating smashed avo.

Mate everyone has got to have at least one good copper mate tucked away for a rainy day! I actually had two copper mates one I went through all of Primary School and High School with and then he went on to become so notorious as a bent copper in NSW he actually had his character played in the tv series "Underbelly"! He was subsequently named, shamed and pretty much screwed during the Royal Commission! He never spent a day in Jail because he like a lot of them took the "resign or be prosecuted" option that was made available to them at the time!

I'm really enjoying the ruling against the AFP today.
