Briliant. Thanks. I like the cable-tie tyre repair and the spring welding. Both worth remembering.
I have seen a picture of a suspension trailing arm replaced with a piece of wood with bolt holes drilled at each end. It could have been strengthened by twitching wire around the ends or driving nails through the ends. And the jerry can on the bonnet when the fuel pump breaks down is always a viable alternative.

The universal joint propeller shaft alternative to a CV axle was pretty serious.
