I think I need to prep for when I may lose my job. I had one of my trade licenses taken away from me and now I am screwed. I can still work but extremely limited and hell its stressful as the other one is under review..
I am so stressed about money and therefore food. I have not prepped for that. Life doesnt teach you how to handle life.
What is your biggest life kicks you in the guts moment?

I've been blessed, never really gone backwards. Even my separation 16 years ago wasn't a setback. Shortage of food and money should be your core prepping, it's been mine since I was 21. Whilst everyone else was wasting money I was busy paying off my first rural property. At 25 I owned 150ac in northern NSW outright.
You don't say how old you are, or why you have lost your trade licence, but it's never too late to start prepping. A thousand mile march starts with a single step.
My mantra is Work Hard, Save Harder, Make Smart Decisions.

Life doesnt teach you how to handle life. What is your biggest life kicks you in the guts moment? Every one of us has our own 'demons' we fight each day - we need to look for something positive in everything we do. Money is a big stress that many of us here struggle with - I'm no financial planner by a long shot - what I do, is if I have a few extra $$, I'll buy a tin or two of food to put away. If they are on special, I'll buy a few extra. A few tins of food a week, well, after a month, 8 tins, 12 months = 96 tins. Look for other items on special, rice, pasta, tuna etc. I started out with tinned fruit, Pea & Ham soup, and Four Bean mix. Throw in non food items - batteries, matches, rope, torches etc..... Look at preparedness as a marathon, and not a sprint. Small steps. Every step is one step more than most people, so you are making progress. You will learn a lot, and you will make mistakes, and as long as you learn from them, then you are on the right path. We have some threads on prepping on a budget as well - I'll try to find the links unless someone else beats me to it.

Many have had to "reinvent" there selves because of life issues of many kinds... It is never easy, but always worth the effort required.. Best plan seems to decide on a set of small stair step goals, and keep focused..
"Reinvent, recover" or what ever is required may not reach the same level from where you started, but certainly not a level where you can't handle. You will be better off for the effort in that your ability, confidence, stamina for life experiences will be much greater..
Remember.. I'm not a psychologist, but I did pay for ones education..
