WERE the least prepared in the world.
Now everyone has a house full of toilet paper, rice, pasta, flour, canned veg etc.

That's actually very comforting! Among other factors it's a strong indicator that the wider population are clearly very distrustful of those in Government! The more the goons told the people to "stop panic buying" the harder they went at it! The panic buying public should be very proud of itself, I expect many of them have now become uber preppers!

The panic buying public should be very proud of itself, I expect many of them have now become uber preppers! I wonder if it'll last though. Six months of full supply and I can imagine 99% go back to the way they were. Still, good to have the other 1% on board if they stick with it. We're all better off if everyone prepares.

Wasn't it a fairly narrow demographic that was doing the lions share of the buy-o-mania?

Well, apparently it was good for the economy because people were buying up from local shops...

+++++++ Sweetie and my thoughts are that when garage, yard sale season comes back, later this year or next year there will be a lot of good appliances and other things quite cheap..

Well, apparently it was good for the economy because people were buying up from local shops... Yep, Colesworth would be pretty happy with a profitable quarter, even as the wider economy slumps. Small food distribution businesses, nurseries and others probably happy with the greater range of customers they have attracted and just hoping they can keep them once things get back to normal.

All I know is: there were a lot of confused looking old/retired folks in our local stores. Also confused looking snowflakes. Poor folks lacked the disposable funds to join in. The well cashed up were the drivers.

WERE the least prepared in the world. Now everyone has a house full of toilet paper, rice, pasta, flour, canned veg etc. Don't count on it. Most will use that up and stop buying what they already have.
