Yeah, situation is deteriorating.. I had the 'reclaimation' pegged for the post election timeframe but yeah, powertripping can get ahead of itself.

The CCP can't take Taiwan. It's too far and too well armed. You'd be talking a Normandy style invasion, except this would the the equivalent of the US going it alone with no allies against a country that has spent decades preparing for it and it a peer force, not a collapsing one. The logistics in transferring enough of the CCPs army to Taiwan are enourmous. The CCP should have air and sea superiority quickly (assuming nobody else steps in against the CCP) but that's not enough to take a country. Even at the height of their power, the Germans couldn't take out a defeated Britain. The loss of face of a failed invasion would be too much to bear for the CCP.
My crystal ball...
They take the islands off the Fujian coast which are very close to the mainland, and that is it for now.
