How do members attach the wiring to the Anderson plug terminals? I have heard many different methods. I fill the hollow part of the terminal with solder and melt it, then plunge the wire in. The terminal usually has a hole at the bottom so I press aluminium foil over the hole to stop the solder running out. It works fine so far. I also put heatshrink around the wire/terminal join for a bit of water and dust proofing.
Anyone got a better method?

Molten solder is the best method for Anderson plug terminals, it gives the maximum current path. You can crimp it with a heavy duty terminal crimper, but if you don't use the correct size crimp for the plug size it will squash the terminal to the side making it hard to insert it into the plastic part of the plug. Flux-cored solder is the best solder to use for maximum adherence to the wires.
