I'm in the field, and yeah for sure, when you expose yourself to 'story' you level up in your emotions and thinking within difficult times as stated. The degree to which it helps is related to how much you put yourself in the situation, helps you keep a cool head. Who's done five days without eating? That will change your reality more than you know. I regularly watch this channel for emotional stability in various scenarios [and played paintball etc a lot] as it prepares you to an extent for significant emotional events. Exposure increases rational thinking under pressure. www.youtube.com/channel/UCsE_m2z1NrvF2ImeNWh84mwAdjust to the Australian situation of course.
