I've been buying bush tucker seeds online, mainly from a supplier in Qld. More out of curiosity to see if I could grow different varieties to plant out at my bol. Some have worked, many didn't;
Quandong (Native Peach) - I planted out about 20 seeds I had harvested from all over Eyre Peninsular. Some I just planted whole, some I cracked with fire, others I broke off the outer hull and just planted the inner pip. I had 3 come up after about 2-3 months. 2 were ones I planted the inner pip, the other was a whole seed. They are about 10cm tall. I'm going to plant out some more seeds soon in a hothouse. I did give 2 plants to our local Indigenous Kindy - they have a large bush garden, but have never been able to grow Native Peach with any success. (I did rub it in about me being a white fella and all, growing bush tucker better than them - LOL).
Creeping saltbush - 10% success.
Bush Tomato - 0% success.
Bush Banana - 0% success.
Native Tobacco - 5% success. No leaves, plants just went to seed.
Lilly Pilly - 0%.
Bush Potato - 0%, but will keep trying with this one.

I have had success with cracking the outer shell of the peach pit and removing the kernel inside carefully. I then put them in a jar of dry sand or peat moss and freeze to imitate the winter cycle and then remove the pits and plant in early spring.
