AI is probably not a SHTF threat on many preppers top 10 list. Watch this and reconsider.
Food for thought.
PS Im absolutely no fan of Elon Musk, none the less Tesla's efforts at sucking up user data and putting it into AI make the other big tech companies look innocent by comparison. An interesting quote I heard elsewhere... Tesla will be facebook on wheels. That should terrify you.

Speaking of AI, I read the other day that the Chinese air force is doing simulator training against an AI program, and its self learning all the "tricks" of the pilots and creating ways to beat them every time in the simulator and just kicking their butts and they are worried of it self learning/evolving to become a problem outside fo the simulator.

UCAVs are a thing.. ie pilotless armed fighters running with AI ... such a vehicle can out manoeuvre a regular fighter because the ucav can be smaller (no need for a pilot and all of the associated systems which a human pilot requires such as seats, environmental systems, displays and controls) and more agile because it wont black out when pulling 8-9gs like a human pilot will. That makes it a pretty formidable platform ... then add super AI ... it does send a bit of a chill down your spine when you consider the possibilities of a runaway AI.

I'm not interested in overpriced cars that drive themselves, fancy phones, wearable gps devices, smart computer thingies that listen to your every word waiting for you to say 'turn light on' or 'feed the backpacker locked in the basement'. I don't even wear a watch, and my phone, when I do carry it, has the bluetooth and tracking things turned off.
I listened to about 2 minutes of the video. The guy sounds like he's about to top himself. He'd be much better off if he stopped worrying about AI and poured himself a glenfiddich, lit a huge cuban and logged into LonelySwedishBackpackers.com

However the limited numbers of people who share such a way of life are far outnumbered by the masses who'll happily be fodder for the system. Aka choosing to ignore AI doesnt mean it isnt going to happen... unfortunately.

That's true. The world will move on and add more and more tech to it's arsenal no matter what we do. The best thing we can do is to understand it (as much as is possible at any rate!) so that we can defend against it. Again... As much as is possible :/

musk and those like him are shills for transhumanism.
To me this is unnatural and should be avoided at all costs.

Studies show that by 2035 ... 1 in 3 children will be born Autistic. These were studies from the early 2000's and actual data is tracking the forecast closely. When that comes true ... we'll be needing AI to wipe the asses of all the old people because the youngsters will be too busy tearing society to shreds.
The Gen-pop is being conditioned to fear the wrong threats and be blind to the inevitable traumas that are now unfolding with increasing rapidity.

Yes because those who hold all the power know that what they are "offering" the masses is a dishonest, unsustainable, temporary "fix" !!

Whats coming is also evident by the behaviors of the hyper-wealthy: buying private islands.

To screw up the AI just do something totally unexpected. The algorithms wont be able to predict the outcome and may crash, especially if its something really outlandish.
Celestial navigation is based on the premise that the Earths is the center of the universe. The premise is wrong, but the navigation works. An incorrect model can be a useful tool. - Kelvin Throop III

A great 3 part series about the rise of computers and machines and their use in social engineering: Part 1 Its interesting to see how wrong forecasts/predictions from the early time of the internet proved to be in some very important ways

You have to watch this it’s 35 seconds. Feel free to read the article too. It's about a deep fake that is so good it has prompted some nervous responses. tom cruise deep fake

It wasn't me Orificer, it was an AI created deep fake. I only need to convince 1 or 2 jurors.

I saw the Tik Tok deepfake of Tom Cruise that's been getting around just this afternoon. That was SCARY. Even up until the start of the year, most deepfakes on social media (at least, the ones that I KNEW were deepfakes) there were still minor tells. The corners of the lips didn't quite move right with certain vocal patterns. There wasn't enough ear-lift when someone smiled. Little things that all pool together to make you think "something's not quite right here". The Tik Tok one though... I would never have known. It was so good that even micro-expressions that consummate actors practice for years to pull off effectively were all there. Hair fell just the right way, and didn't distort other features the way other deepfakes might.
Pretty scary stuff. You don't even need to worry about AI when people can fake another human being so effectively.

While I wad driving the other day I had an idea for a game ... a wargame in reality - to playout how AI will take control of the world. I hadnt heard about deep fakes until just now but, wow, they would play into that wargame for sure.

To screw up the AI just do something totally unexpected. Portal (the game) mentions paradoxes. There are, at some points, posters which say: ---------------------------------- KNOW YOUR PARADOXES In event of rogue AI 1. Stand still 2. Remain calm 3. Shout: "This statement is false!" "New mission: Refuse this mission." "Does a set of all sets contain itself?" ---------------------------------- A picture can be found at funnyjunk.com/funny_pictures/2046028/Portal/Nerd humour 😏

I would have thought that 800 grains of lead travelling at 2700fps, punching with 10,000 foot pounds of force would take care of any rogue AI.
