Artificial Super Intelligence .. ASI

I edited the thread title to better reflect the lingo they use in the AI field. AI is generally considered to perform a single function like drive a car whereas Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI) is a reference to general intelligence skillset capable of dealing with many & varied thought processes.

AI is not considered problematic, but ASI is. Discussion around ASI is invariably linked to methods of making ASI human aware/human friendly in case it chooses to consider annhilating us.

The thing to consider with ASI is that it is smarter than the smartest person on earth aka
Smarter than the smartest physicist, doctor, engineer, scientist, chemist, soldier.

Also smarter than the smartest hacker, warlord, business leader, politician, sociopath & thug.

So any idea that the obove types of people can come up with the ASI will have come up with and considered or dealt with first. For this reason the ASI has little to fear from humans because it can out think us. However it would reasonably fear another ASI and thats why it would want to neutralise any other ASI in existence and any related enablers (scientists etc) to that alternate ASI.
