There are a number of articles, how to video, and all of how to cook, dehydrate ground meats.. Mostly about using ground beef it seems... These how to instructions do work as we have done it a time or two with small amounts of beef... Purchased, already canned dehydrated meats are very expensive last I checked, so if you do use the ingredient it seems well worth the effort to do homemade..
I have used the dehydrated beef in a couple of my "just add water" dry meals in a jar.. It does require you to be patient in letting it rehydrate as it is referred to as "gravel" for a reason.. Still nutritious and all, just a bit harder to choke down if not fully hydrated..
Tri-Polar.... Please post your process, results, and how it turned out when used.. Pictures would be appreciated..
Your messages about this got me thinking there is no reason the process would not work well with other meats... I'm thinking wild red meats as in bear and moose being available in this area..
I wonder if a mix of meats after dehydration would produce a unique taste when used ?? There may be many possibilities here...
Facts, details, experience, good info.... ?? Give it up...

Well, no photos as i @#$%ed up the final result. Was making pemmican with roo meat. However heres what i did with the meat: Cooked meat. Drained what little fat it had out. Placed it on paper towel to absorb abit more. After 3 or so hours in the oven, i worked out i could put it in my dehydrator if i out it on baking paper. So skip the over if you can. But.. 70degrees for 12hours did it for me. Hate the smell of kangaroo after that, but i also added in some raspberries. The end product of my failed pemmican has netted 6 bricks that i re-hydrate for dog food. Round 2 this weekend if i remember to buy the stuff i need.
Dogs dinner currently: The mentioned roo meat, 1/6th of it. Chicken, vegetables, rice, stock and some fish oil.
