Covid border closures has reduced supply to nil. So I've bought the Mrs a long blonde wig and I'm encouraging her to learn Vietnamese. Only problem is she like it when I wear the wig, calls me Fabio or something.

I suspect the Taliban must surely have sent multiple "Study Groups" to Oz recently! The Taliban are starting to sound more and more like Australian State and Federal Governments every day! I wonder if I can get multiple Freedom of Information Requests activated to investigate possible collusion between our various Governments and the Taliban?
Confiscation of Civilian Firearms, Mandatory Wearing of Face Coverings, Curfews, Checkpoints, Road Blocks, High Level Corruption, Detention without Legal Arrest, House To House Searches etc etc? Just too much of a coincidence! I wonder if the Talibs received exemption from 2 week quarantine when they arrived here?

SUPPORT NRA-ILA
There is no shortage of historical examples of tyrants using gun control to facilitate the brutalization of a population. The Third Reich used firearm restrictions to control their political enemies and the countries they occupied. The communist countries of the Warsaw Pact tightly controlled or outlawed civilian access to arms. In China, as the Law Library of Congress has noted, “the Firearms-Control Law generally prohibits any private possession of firearms.”
Following in the footsteps of other totalitarian regimes, the newly-empowered Taliban has taken to disarming Afghan civilians as one of its first orders of business. The Afghan capital of Kabul fell to the Islamist militants on August 15. By August 16, the Taliban was already confiscating civilian firearms.
A Reuters item from the 16th explained,
Taliban fighters in the Afghan capital, Kabul, started collecting weapons from civilians on Monday because people no longer need them for personal protection, a Taliban official said.
"We understand people kept weapons for personal safety. They can now feel safe. We are not here to harm innocent civilians," the official told Reuters.
The Taliban’s fear of an armed populace is understandable. Prior to the U.S. invasion in 2001, the extremist group ruled over the country with an iron fist. The population was routinely abused for failing to live up to the Taliban’s religious edicts with public punishments including, beheadings, stonings, and dismemberment.
There are recent reports that the militants are already going door-to-door seeking out their political adversaries. Reuters reported that in the city of Jalalabad the Taliban opened fire on protesters attempting to replace the group’s flag with the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan flag, killing three. Other reports described a scene where women and children were beaten bloody outside the Kabul airport.
Like other despots, the Taliban understands that firearms are a means to political power. Thankfully, in the U.S., those means and power are held with the citizenry. All those who support a free society should work to ensure it remains there.

Up here it seems firearms and ammo are spotty with retailers at best...
A bigger problem is retailers MUST use approved shippers but some shippers now are not making deliveries to a number of postal codes... Of course mine is one of the ones they have dropped for shipments..
Don't know why they are doing this..
I do know some shippers and Canada Post have had employees that have a personal agenda against firearms and were damaging or misdirecting shipments deliberately.. One person fired from CP that is known of..

Maybe this Russian ammo might now make it to the Aus market as the manufacturers will still be wanting to sell it. It's not a lack of supply issue, its a market issue so possibly the Aus market picks up some of the gap caused by the US ban

They would sell bucket loads (in the millions) more than 7.62x39!

its a market issue so possibly the Aus market picks up some of the gap caused by the US ban === === This is what I was hoping for the Canadian market... It may still happen, but the recent Canadian shipping issues may make it harder..
Yes... I would like to see cheaper 30-30 and 303 and no reason it can't be steel case.. Although I would have to look to see if 30-30 is a smaller rim diameter than 303 or others.. === === There is a site.. Jews for firearms ownership I think.. That had an article about finish reaming a worn out 303 chamber to 762x54r... Technically then it will shoot either, but will ruin 303 cases.. May be an option with some firearms if nothing else will work..
