Calling around different well drilling companies- soonest they can get out is next summer! Ugh. Wish we could DIY a well, has to be about 350 feet down though for good water.

That wait time is caused by market distortion in the drilling industry created by government. New bores on farms have been and are continuing to be rebated by government 'drought support' programs at between 25 and 50%.

You might be quicker and better to install a sheeted catchment. Assuming you have space for it.

You might be quicker and better to install a sheeted catchment. Assuming you have space for it. Great idea. We do have wetlands next to us and 48 acres. Just frustrating. I want to be done and in already - with septic and well done. We are planning solar as we are a mile from the road, to bring power would be expensive. Even fine with living in my RV for a couple years. We may have to bring water in.
