Was going to post in chat, but no chat on mobile.
If you are in Qld and use factory ammo, stock up today.
In 2 weeks, you won't have another chance when stock runs out.

Ok, did a quick google search. Transport issue according to ABC.. Another example of supply chain disruption - the new normal get used to shortages and lack of spares for equipment. The local dealer in the town where I stay sells 900round .223 ammo for less than $1,000, and comes in a ammo box. Will pick one up on Saturday with new scope for my Mauser. Posted 1st Sept by ABC>>> >>>!!! www.abc.net.au/news/2021-09-01/concerns-grow-over-looming-loss-of-firearm-freight-options/100420506Freight giant TNT Express told customers last month it would cease transporting firearms and ammunition within weeks and Australian-owned logistics company Northline soon followed suit. The Queensland Shooters Union has taken aim at what it described as a "highly irresponsible" move by TNT and Northline. “They did it, effectively, with very little notice to their long-term clients," southern Darling Downs farmer and union president Graham Park said. "They did it, I think, without any thought of how it affects not just businesses, but farmers and graziers who need these as a tool of trade."

I'll explain the situation tonight. Partly related to tnt, but not solely them. Can't be stuffed typing it on my phone.

Any prepper who isn't already well sorted for ammo isn't really a prepper.

No one left to drive the trucks, process animals at the abitwuar, stack shelves, jobs going begging, cant find people to harvest this years grain crops....why.....maybe many people dead due to the jab, lockdowns may be a cover story for the lack of workers, makes u wonder. Get your on farm resources ready, as there may not be a fire brigade to come and help if the jab is made compulsory for volunteer members. Be ready to be your own police force, ambulance/hospital/doctor, food shop, water board and electric supplier. If this huge investment company in China implodes, the Leihman Bros collapse will look like a damp cigarette. Keep your eyes on the volcano on the Canary Islands, if the chunk of land breaks of..... Any prepper who isn't already well sorted for ammo isn't really a prepper. Yes very true, but I made the mistake against my better judgment, could not help myself and purchased two new calibers, now have to stock up while prices are going up. Then there is the temptation of shooting too much and setting in scopes etc.........

And I see a 30/30 lever I just have to have.

Apparently if one hunts buffalo need a minimum 300win Mag, so much for having all the bases covered for Australia. The humane hunting laws forces one to keep purchasing additional calibers. I suppose in a WROL it would be game on... I am not brave enough to go for handgun...

I also have all the gear to reload all those calibres plus some other common ones I don't have, like 243, 270 and 45acp, just in case. I suppose I should get dies for 7.62x39 and 303 as well.

Ok, so the go is: We all know TNT have stopped doing dangerous goods delivery. However what you may not know is the gumbyment has now made it that you need special licenses and truck requirements to transport the gear. Not how it was before TNT dropped it. No one in QLD is qualified which means in 2 weeks NO deliveries will be made, and no one is aloud to deliver until they have been approved and licensed. Powder runs are still fine and unaffected. As far as we were told, the other states have qualified people to transport, lucky them. The above is fact. There was a whisper that QLD will end up like WA as well, where brass and projectiles will be classed as dangerous goods, thus, shits going to get expensive and postage a no go. Any prepper who isn't already well sorted for ammo isn't really a prepper. So basically if youve just started prepping or lacking in that area, stiff shit and no need for a heads up?

Not at all. I sure the heads up is appreciated by Qld members, but anyone who has just started prepping more than a year into the worst pandemic in a century isn't smart enough to heed your warning.

Ammunition and reloading supplies in a more normal/permissive environment was a once a year trip from the bush to the city for me. That's now not possible in NSW if you are in lockdown. I've got a mate who is locked down that put money on a new rifle three months ago and he is prevented from picking it up because of the 5k issue.

I have heard an opinion, rumor, fact from a major sporting goods and ammo retailer saying pretty much all US ammo makers are 2 years behind on "NATO" caliber ammo production... I'm going to presume that is all small arms ammo including 50 BMG.... So that will affect the civilian, sporting ammo supply...

Same, i’ve not been to a certain favourite dealer for a while now. It’s a shame because they are the most competitively priced place in the country and often have ammo cheaper than the US. I love the irony there… Norseman maybe old mate can ask if the shop can do a dealer to dealer transfer. It will be a few bucks but better than sitting there waiting for something to turn up and that he already owns.

Prob going to become even further behind now that the us gumbymemt has just created a whole new market for NATO ammo

Probably a lot of production capacity going into getting ready for combat with China? Hence US ammo makers "2 years behind"?
