From my prospective of developing "just add water" dry meals this may be an alternative to oatmeal for just 1 application.. A big part of my cryteria is everything must be freeze proof in long term storage..
Will look this up later this winter and do a bit of experimenting... Thanks...

While these kind of recipes are good for short term, I wouldn't make them with the intention of long term storage. The oils will almost certainly go rancid within 12 months (less, if your weather varies wildly, more if you can keep it in a freezer).
A good way to do it would be to keep the ingredients separately but not yet ground into meal. That way when the time comes you could grind it yourself and create the end product pretty quickly and easily. That being said you'd need a hand grinder if you don't have power but you COULD potentially get around that with a hefty mortar and pestle. Wouldn't want to have to do that OFTEN but needs must.
I bought a hand grinder a few years back as a back as my backup plan but I also have a grain grinding attachment for my Kitchen Aid and a Vitamix for when I have power. Thank goodness, because hand grinding is monotonous when there's other options lol.

We have, like the attachments we have for our Kitchen Aid mixer.. I have looked into a grain mill, just because it is available, but it is too expensive for the use we see that we would make of it.. So that idea has gone dormant at this time..
Again.. Will look closer at this later..

i tried indian Sooji, Corn and Rice Poha ..
REally effective when paired with a tin of minestrone or M&S stew.
But this FAMEAL looks awfully interesting.
Thanks for the share.
