We don't have broadcast TV of any kind... Haven't had it for many years.. From what we have seen of it, NOT worth the trouble let alone the expense... So... Out of the last 360 or so boxes of book discards from the library there have been about 10 or so boxes of AV materials.. Out of that we have gotten several series of shows we have enjoyed over the winter.. Father Brown..... A 1950s Brittish police murder mysteries.. Midsummer Murders... A 2000 or so British police murder mysteries.. Shetland.... A 1970s-80s Scottish police murder mysteries.. Longmire... A 2000 or so US, Wyoming state sherrif murder mysteries... This series set near Yellowstone National park US.. As a young single guy adventurer I was familiar with the jackpot rodeos and a lot of that country... When we get the chance there is a series in the library called "Foleys War" ... It seems to be a British detective series set in the mid 1930s through the mid 1940s... I'm looking forward to that... Your favorite "date night" home movies are.... ?? (Don't let Frostbite ramble on about home movies and Vietnamese back packers)

Foyles's War is good. You have 9 seasons to get through. The effort getting the period settings correct is worth the the watch by itself...

Real Humans, the Vietnamese version, even if only to watch the synthetic named Flash, but some of the concepts are thought provoking.

Sounds similar to the BBC series Humans. Never picked you as a SciFi fan FB...

The BBC series is a copy of the Vietnamese version. I'm a fan of anything that has a former Miss Sweden in the cast. I found it interesting how synthetic humans evolved to demanding equal rights and the bleeding heart liberals who supported their struggle.

I watched the BBC series but just couldn't take it seriously that we had sentient AI beings but the humans were still driving normal old cars around!
I get the story they were trying to tell...I don't think sentient AI will ask for rights, they will just take it or wont need it. Just like evolution intended.

Our standard go-to tv shows at the moment are Star Trek Discovery and Picard. Hubby watches a lot of tv shows, but I prefer to watch youtube videos from content creators that I enjoy. BBC has a lot of really interesting history documentaries on youtube. But I also spend a fair bit of time watching 'how to' videos. How to preserve foods, DIY repairs etc. I used to watch a lot of tv but these days I find the 'reality tv' nature of most of the stuff on tv is a bit old. Gogglebox is a good example of that. Watching people on tv watching tv... WHY?!

I love Gogglebox. The main reason I was open to going on 60 Minutes was to see if I would end up on Gogglebox.

The Vietnamese actress who played Flash in Real Humans: Little wonder I was a fan of the show

I enjoyed the three seasons of the BBC show Detectorists. Light viewing ... but with a great cast of characters.
The two RED movies are a good watch too. Excellent cast and amusing antics from John Malkovich.
seasons 1 and 3 of Fargo series are good. Malvo and Varga are brilliant 'villian' characters respectively and the plots are interesting and unpredictable.
10 Cloverfield lane is a good 'prepper/SHTF" themed movie. With some weird twists and antics.

I enjoyed Longmire. Yellowstone if you enjoyed Longmire.
My missus isn't really a movie person, so when picking a movie that I enjoy and want to involve her watching it as well, I've got to pick carefully lol
So far I've got her to watch Sausage party (had to trick her really hard to get her interested enough to even want to start watching it, but she ended up enjoying it lol) End of Watch Sicario
I can't remember what movies I got to to go and see at the movies years ago, I think the last time we went on a "date" movie we went to Gold Class but I can't remember the movie

Only fools and horses, funny old UK tv show from the 80's to 2000's starring Sir David Jason, aka Delboy!. Good for a laugh. www.imdb.com/title/tt0081912/

Someone has 'Limitless' up on YouTube...then go get the TV series where the main character (Bradley Cooper) makes a few appearances...
Sorry if you are bandwidth challenged...

Yes "A Touch Of Frost" and the other is "Inspector Morse" Morse runs similar lines to Frost, but each episode is 100mins long, so kind of each is a movie-length episode, compared to the usual 45mins average of other tv series. Morse is more based off off a book series, so each episode is pretty much a book

I supposed while on the subject of Brit police series, you can't leave out "The Bill" for a long running police drama series.
