On another forum someone ask something about binoculars and monoculars...
In the course of conversations some one mentioned a binocular option called "sporting event" binoculars.. That being they are always in focus regardless of the distance an object or action is taking place...
Anyway... I got to looking and I have a number of binoculars and 1 monocular.. That being a older Tasco 8X25.. It is very clear but hard to hold still to use with the small field of view..
For binoculars I have....
Leupold 12X50... VERY good glass, but hard to hold still..
An old set of naval style binoculars marked 10X50 and in English saying made in USSR.. Again very good, but hard to hold still..
A set of Burris 8X32 (?) 8X40 (?) that are small, light and very good..
And several sets of older 7X35 and the like made in Japan.. All work well..
All of these came from garage sales and thrift stores in the $5 to $20 range...
So today I looked in the glove box of the Kubota UTV to find a set that are no name and 6X30 size saying made in USA... This is a set of always in focus at any distance, no adjustment glass... I had not looked at this set in a long time..
I can use all these with my glasses ON... That is an important feature to me...
Anyway... I think I'm interested in getting some more sets of always in focus, "sporting event" glass as I like that feature.. Also thinking it would be nice to use as I sit in my hide spot overlooking the big pasture with my old 30-06 bush rifle...
Anyone with experience with this type glass ??
Facts, details, experience, thoughts, suggestions.. ??
