As info for WA members
My father passed away in August and I was co user for a couple of old single shot 22's Dad owned.
I was reluctant to approach WA firearms branch as their website stated must be handed in to police station or gun shop for C of S and need to submit new application to add them to my licence. Also spoke to a couple of different shops with similar stories and one actually saying need to be handed in to be destroyed. Last Tuesday I missed a phone call from a police officer from the firearms branch. I rang back on Wednesday and he said technically they're are unlicensed(true), he then said you probably want to keep them and I said yes. He advised further if I had them secure and I was executer of Dads will to send him a copy of the will showing me as executer and Dads signature on the will and he would transfer them fully to my licence and issue an updated licence.
Sceptical me thought I'll believe when I see it and have been waiting to be raided for the last week. Credit where credits due, my new licence arrived today. Well done Snr Constable xxxx.
Will be interesting to see if others have similar positive experiences or I was just lucky and got the right person.

Sorry for your loss hd. So, a cop that lives in the real world...fancy that! Thanks. Had two positive pro gun coppers in the last two months even when I moved house and changed storage location the cop I got to witness my photos complimented me on my safe setup and photos and submitted it on the spot for me. Both ex UK coppers, not sure if that means anything.

Hmmm...I wonder if they're over here because the Brit gov. took guns off them? Cops with no guns...how insane is that? Like not giving guns to soldiers!

I wonder whether the type of gun was a factor - ie: would you have got the same outcome if the guns were semi auto or bigger calibre?

Much the same here. Found an old Diawa 177 air rifle when helping a friend clean up after husbands death. Volunteered to dispose of it properly, but thought to try and register it (was unregistered gun), and transfer the gun to my license. All went smoothly, thanks to a local cop who knew us and the lady. Took a few weeks, but a note was made in the day book at the cop station that I had an unregistered gun with serial number xxx, it was safely stored and they knew about it. All worked in the end, and even though it was a piece of s..t 40 + year old gun, it had sentimental value for her and it was nice to help.
Governments produce scarcity by shutting off pipelines, shutting down farming operations, taxing productivity and deliberately causing food shortages and inflation. Money printing steals savings from everyone, creating scarcity of the purchasing value of dollars previously earned.
