I got a bit sus when Sweden concluded their investigation and refused to release details! If they found evidence it was done by Russia, why would they hold back after they were so anti-Russia on their invasion? Had to be someone linked to NATO I would of thought. I'm not sure on the US's theory on an act of war - Nordstream (2 especially) is owned by majorly EU companies - so the EU should be pissed!
The thing the US and the UK fear the most is Germany and Russia finally burying the hatchet and integrating fully - not as a country but as a partnership. Germany's industry and science combined with Russia's resources would give everyone else a hard time.

I don't think milspec has been around for a while to be honest.
I have no suspicions either way on that story. The Americans very well COULD have done it. Or not. It could be convenient for them to allow that story to circulate so that they gain some airtime and spooky vibes. Or it could even be some commercial group that just went "You know what? Let's do this because it suits our agenda".
But what I DO know is that there's no actual evidence in that whole piece. Just "This dude said that some dude told him...". Now I'm absolutely not saying he's lying, but what's saying he wasn't lied to. Given his background I have more faith in what he's said than a lot of other 'experienced journalists', but with deep fakes and AI in the news showing us just how easy it is to fool even an expert... I don't know.
Without a way to look at the factual information and draw a conclusion it's just an opinion piece. An interesting one sure and if true then imagine the fallout if someone can prove it! But it doesn't really change anything in my mind. When evidence comes out of who really was responsible no matter who it was, that's when things will get spicy. And that's the thing. I imagine that someone of his reputation has some actual evidence beyond "A dude I know told me something". You'd have to hope he would be too smart to just take someone's word for it given that he'd be painting a target on his back even by putting the story out there.
But without seeing that evidence it's impossible to do anything other than say "Cool story" and wait for the mushroom cloud to actually go off. I do wonder what the outcome will be if it's proven to be true though!

From my readings, Sweden did prove it from explosive residue from the pipeline itself - but they went all quiet. You could argue that Russia planted some US-style residue but I think we all know the technical capabilities of the Russians these days! ...and anyway, they have been blaming the Poms for the most part!
The US (Maybe the UK too - but they had follow-on benefits from it) is the only one here that has been opposing Nordstream 2 AND didn't have skin in the game financially.
Milspec has been MIA for months - back in the game?

It caused Germany to stop being able to play both sides of the fence.

Easy call for the US to make, Germany's call is on the destruction of their economy. Their whole gig is based on energy investments in Russia, that's why it took them so long to decide.

Was it actually blown up ? Or just a big bubble of gas released ? Wouldn't surprise me if it was a sysop to confuse the world powers and start a war, Oh, that's already happened hasn't it ?
In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.

Nah, doubtful. The shortage of fuel at the other end is a pretty good indication that it really happened. Unless 'they' (and who knows who 'they' are in this situation) choked supply from the top end somehow. Possible I guess, but it seems far easier to actually blow it up than to restrict supply and then find somewhere else to sell it without anyone else noticing.
I guess you could stock it into in-country storage but I figure that's a lot more work than just nuking a pipe and watching everyone flip out.
