This thread will be daily news spam that should concern preppers and those concerned with global instability. Lots of bad economic data coming from Eurozone, China, US, Aus - all major economies shrinking. With the big debt bubble - not long and it implodes.... At this point, the Conference Board’s index of leading economic indicators has already fallen for 15 months in a row…
- List item Earlier this month, Packaging Corp. of America reported that cardboard box sales fell 9.8% in the second quarter. That ranks as one of the biggest slumps on record when you combine it with the 12.7% drop in Q1. Since peaking at a record $340 billion in December 2021, exports were down to $284 billion in May as rising interest rates weigh on economic activity in the US and Europe. US banks tightening credit and loan applications. More bank failures this week. Bank turmoil arrived in small-town America on Friday night when a tiny four-branch bank in Kansas failed, becoming the fourth lender to be seized by regulators this year and the fifth to fold altogether.
According to the Kansas State Banking Commissioner David Herndon, the event "had nothing to do" with the year's earlier regional bank failures. The Heartland Tri-State Bank, of Elkhart, Kan., is the smallest to go under in 2023 by far. It had $139 million in assets when it went down Friday, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. The other banks that failed thus far this year all had assets of more than $100 billion, including Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank. Two More Banks Failed — Will More Follow? In the past week, two critical events unfolded in the banking sector. First, Heartland Bank in Kansas experienced an outright failure, leading to its doors being closed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The second incident involved an organized merger between PAC West Bank and Bank of California, facilitated by the US government to prevent a potential failure. Notably, JP Morgan’s Jamie Dimon played a role in assisting with this merger. - Rising interest rates
- Tightening lending standards
- Government Intervention and Forced Mergers
The Banks Just Did the Unthinkable (And Why It Means a Hard Landing is Coming)

The Teamsters were notified Sunday of the company’s pending demise, which would throw 30,000 people out of work — including 22,000 union members — and mark the industry’s biggest failure. It Starts In Four Weeks... What is interesting in the video is the comments from subscribers

If Russian lackey Belarus keeps violating Polish territory we may well see a hot NATO vs Russia war. Whilst no bombs will fall in Australia as a result, expect the price of everything to rapidly rise as a result and empty supermarket shelves as panic buying and fist fights over the last roll of toilet paper return. www.abc.net.au/news/2023-08-02/poland-sends-troops-to-belarus-border/102677274

Yip it is just headlines to keep perspective on what is going on. In the prepper world it is 9 meals (72h) to chaos. Keep your ear on the ground so one can implement a Bugout Plan. My Bug out plan includes final shopping Fuel, veg seed, dog food) and various other activities. If too late it might be looting which is probably best avoided. Part of prepping is what if scenarios, if we see what is going down in other countries, then is is how would we deal with the same situation in our local communities. I am blaming Stealth ausprep.com/user/767 for this thread.. I will just post headlines with links... Yip it will appear like spam - saves you reading all the garbage new that comes out, you can get all the doom pÕrn news in one place...

South Africa here we come. Guard dogs, barb wire fences, residents packing guns. The cops and judiciary will keep the kid gloves on until the vigilantes take over. If only these punks would target the middle class we’d have ccw permits

Illegal to use firearms in self defense, illegal to bar every door and window as the fire chief will get you for bein unsafe, illegal to have body armor, illegal to apprehend a trespasser, Illegal to have 6 foot fence with razor wire etc... but but but it is our responsibility to make our houses safe, then they warn against vigilantism. The sooner the global economy fails and WORL or TEOTWAWKI ensues the better.

In Australia self defence is not one of the genuine reasons for firearm ownership, but the laws regarding self defence guarantee your right to use lethal force under certain situations. So you can’t own a gun for self defence but you can use a gun for self defence, depending on the situation. Some of the nanny states may still revoke your licence, however, for using that firearm outside of your genuine reason.
From the Attorney General’s website:
10.4 Self-defence
(1) A person is not criminally responsible for an offence if he or she carries out the conduct constituting the offence in self- defence. (2) A person carries out conduct in self-defence if and only if he or she believes the conduct is necessary: (a) to defend himself or herself or another person; or (b) to prevent or terminate the unlawful imprisonment of himself or herself or another person; or (c) to protect property from unlawful appropriation, destruction, damage or interference; or (d) to prevent criminal trespass to any land or premises; or (e) to remove from any land or premises a person who is committing criminal trespass; and the conduct is a reasonable response in the circumstances as he or she perceives them. (3) This section does not apply if the person uses force that involves the intentional infliction of death or really serious injury: (a) to protect property; or (b) to prevent criminal trespass; or (c) to remove a person who is committing criminal trespass. (4) This section does not apply if: (a) the person is responding to lawful conduct; and (b) he or she knew that the conduct was lawful.

Quote: July 31 (Reuters) - U.S. pharmacy chain CVS Health (CVS.N) is cutting 5,000 jobs, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, citing a staff memo.
That sounds like a lot, until you see it’s only 1.5% of their 300,000 strong workforce. A business that big probably has a lot of fat to trim.

The sooner the global economy fails and WORL or TEOTWAWKI ensues the better. Call it the "Law" but never call it "Justice"! The Australian Constitution guarantees Aussie Citizens nothing in the way of freedom or justice! The Australian Constitution only stipulates how the common man will be ruled over and controlled by their .gov Law! The filth that wrote that fuggen rag should have been tried and hung for their crime, remember this trash at the time were still more beholden to the British than they were to the Australian People! What do you Feds monitoring this forum think? Try these (from www.australianconstitutioncentre.org.au/rights.html) - Why don’t we have many Constitutional rights?
The world has changed significantly since Federation. Rights are now at the forefront of many people’s mind. However, the Australian Constitution contains very few written rights. It was a deliberate decision of the writers of our Constitution to trust the democratic process to protect rights. How else am I protected by the Constitution?
Our Constitution is structured to protect our system of government. These protections mean we don’t have to worry about our country becoming a dictatorship. Only the courts can exercise judicial power. The Government cannot lock up their opposition and throw away the key! Fark and I'm not even trying hard!

"The sooner the global economy fails and WORL or TEOTWAWKI ensues the better. "
In Texas, on the Mexican boarder, a man was opening his farm gate at 9:15 pm, with his wife and kids inside his truck, when he noticed movement from the corner of his eye. As he turned, he drew his weapon. There were 5 of them carrying baseball bats, machetes and other weapons. Two left the scene in an ambulance, 2 were arrested and one left the scene in the coroners van. It was ruled justifiable self defense. I wonder what the result would have been in Australia ? A widow and the Government pricks having to support her and the kids for the rest of their lives, not to mention the heartbreak.
"Our Constitution is structured to protect our system of government. "
The American constitution is designed to protect the individual, giving the people the power to kick out a bad Government, exactly the opposite of ours. Theirs is under threat by the very Government its supposed to protect from.
Remember, dead men tell no tales....
