The ANZ did that, and removed the ATM from Casino, so we charnged banks, simple really, and I sent a snotty letter to them as well.
Ultimately, skills trump supplies and tools. With the right knowledge, you can make just about any tool you need.

All the economist that I follow are predicting imminent doomsday by the end of 2023. I have just sold the last of the company shares that I have available for sale. Liquidating all assets. Aus dollar is going down due to China weakness. You name it I don't think there are any countries left that are still doing well. Europe is in recession, Aus unemployment is creeping up. Japan and US debt going ballistic and consumers tapped out.

If you are liquidating assets, Spatial, what are you putting your money into? With the AU$ forecast to fall to US40 cents I expect prices of most things to rise substantially. I’ve adopted a policy of ‘buy now, don’t cry later’.

Lets talk Hawaii fire disaster. Hawaii one of the most remote places in the world is supposed to have world best emergency response for cyclones, volcanic eruption tsunami etc.. Their response to the wildfires pushed by cyclonic winds was very poor. Poor notification, no water available, no communication (WIFI and radio down). Drinking water got contaminated but did not notify the residence. ETC.. Governments are now dealing with very many international disasters; too many "spot fires" [pun intended], that there is not enough resources to go around. Things are escalating, when major apocalyptic events occur we will all be on our own with our own. Why was there no water to fight the fire in Maui?www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/aug/17/hawaii-fires-maui-water-rights-disaster-capitalismThose demands are coming as FEMA already is stretched thin by staff shortages amid costly and overlapping disasters fueled by climate change and financial shortfalls as its disaster relief fund nears a deficit by September. With full appropriations threatened by political fights in Congress over funding for the Ukraine war, FEMA officials warned in an email Wednesday that they may have to pause spending on “non-lifesaving and life-sustaining activities” without a quick infusion of money. Maui survivors say government help still lagswww.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/08/17/fema-maui-response-lahaina-fires-biden/

"Things are escalating, when major apocalyptic events occur we will all be on our own with our own. "
That's what Ive been saying, this season the bush-fire risk is accelerating, so be ready. have your own fire fighting tanker/pump/hoses suitable gear, and fixed assets, hoes and so on.
Keeping grass down around the buildings, using the sheep and tractor. Rain would be nice.
FB, when I was scratching around down your retreat way many years ago, rabbits were plentiful and indeed were the basis of not a few meals at times. Are they still around ?
And where are they gunna get tradies from ? Like most things, a lot of people have 'suddenly died' from some sort of something or other and there just are not enough tradies around. Ditto airline pilots, much alternative news concerning pilots 'suddenly passing out' in flight and the co pilot having to take over. Don't fly people, ever. I wonder how many extra car accidents have happened due to the same cause ?
Understand this great cosmic truth: The universe operates on an ecosystem of automatic abundance, where mass is abundant (and free), and mass can be converted into energy at nearly zero cost (via hot fusion, cold fusion, LENR, etc.). Automatic abundance is intelligently designed into the very laws of physics.

Rabbits are still around. Foxes and stray sheep are most common on our trail cam.

On top of the economy in imminent crash, China record flooding, wildfires now happening in Canada and Washington state. Many towns evacuated, air quality becoming a problem with waste tips on fire. Canada wildfires: British Columbia declares emergency as 15,000 homes told to evacuatewww.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-66551480Canada is having its worst wildfire season on record, with at least 1,000 fires burning across the country, according to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre (CIFFC).

Thanks, Canadian government for stopping winter season control burning many years ago. Just like our governments here did before last years mega-fires, and suddenly they are allowing back burn permits again

I wonder what goes through a greenie’s mind just before it gets engulfed by a wall of flame 100m high and 50km wide?
Never mind, greenies never stray far from the inner city latte hubs, they probably never been in the bush.

Thanks, Canadian government for stopping winter season control burning many years ago. Just like our governments here did before last years mega-fires, and suddenly they are allowing back burn permits again The council effwits up our way shortened the period for controlled burns / hazard reduction by a month just after the mega fires a few years ago, completely disrupting our normal hazard reduction routine / strategy. The council wankers have actually made a dangerous situation even worse with their knee jerk shit! Our next door neighbour put his property on the market a week or two back and much of his reasoning was his lack of confidence in confronting the upcoming fire season!

"confidence in confronting the upcoming fire season!"
Ive spent the past few weeks checking and rechecking our fire preps, making sure header tanks are full, pumps work and so on. Ive also just finished Building up a diesel pump set for emergency use. A crank start mechanically injected diesel, should be emp proof. Still seem to have a small leak in the radiator, but im now gunna put some stop leak gunge into it, that should seal it.
Slashed everything within 200 meters of the house to within an inch of its life, almost bear ground, now letting the sheep in to finish it off.
My fire strategy includes a back burn along the fence and as we are lower than most of the rest of the property, the fire should burn uphill and away from us. Add in roof sprinklers, sprinklers on the pumps at the dam, fixed 1 inch fire hoses on reels and enough fire hoses to reach any part of the occupied area, including the bee hives, and we are as prepped as we can be. I have the appropriate drip torch and protection gear that Ive bought over the years. Expected it last year up here in the Northern Rivers, but only the Drake area copped it.
When one tugs at a single thing in nature, one finds it is attached to the rest of the world.

When the white collars turned up in RFS the legal liability came with it. They be to scared to do decent HRs. Their resources (humans) for effective wide scale burns are not good in some areas.

Why do people think prepping for bush fires is any different to prepping for economic collapse etc. It isn't. Be prepared, especially in the bush, but also in the cities, witness Hawaii recently.
You have been warned, summer is gunna be hot and dry.
Tracers work...in both directions.

It's not. It's just one more thing that you prepare for. But Hawaii is a different beast to Australia. We're hardened against bushfires here. We KNOW about them. A lot of us spend a lot of time considering it. We have ads on tv most summers on how to create a reduced risk by clearing property, cleaning gutters, and clearing firebreaks. We might not all be RFS members but we might as well be if you compare your average Aussie to a Hawaiin. It's a very small island after all, but most anyone that grows up outside of a city here knows that fires are deadly.
Hawaiians don't have that environment. They have fires there, but nothing on the monumental scales that we can have. So when it happens it might seem like they were 'asking for it' by not being ready. But we're in a new world where previous environmental norms are being turned on their head and a small island in the middle of the ocean burned to the ground when.
That's why we should be even more cautious about weather this summer. Because if a place like Hawaii can go up in flames, what's that weather pattern going to do to us?

I've heard Hawaii has a lot of Eucalypt forest there. No wonder it now burns so well. They imported their risk from Oz.
