If the Earth were a green pea, what size in comparison would be the largest star known? The largest star known (when I last checked) is UY Scuti, a red super-giant that has a diameter of approximately 2.4 billion kilometers. Diameter of Earth is 12,756 km - so UY Scuti is about 2 million times larger. Peas (according to several sources) measure between 4 and 8 millimeters. So - what do we know of that’s 8 to 16 million millimeters in diameter? So that’s between 8 and 16km. Mount Everest is 8.84 km tall so - the diameter of UV Scuti would be somewhere between the height of mount Everest…and about twice that high.
Who controls the energy can control whole continents.

Stephensen 2-18 is the largest one known now. Though these things are so tenuous they are almost a vacuum at thier edge.

It also depends on how you measure it, the wavelengths of light and so on. Either way, its a big one !
A colored darksucker is simply a normal darksucker surrounded by colored glass.

At 2.4 billion km diameter and if it were a planet, a jet flying 800kph would need to fly non stop for 1076 years to travel around it.

It's amazing how small we are in the universe, yet we are always hellbent on self-destruction, greed, corruption and war.

I honestly hope there are no intelligent aliens out there, because we have just spent the last 70 years broadcasting movies about how we will fight them.
If we received a signal from space with thousands of different depictions on how those aliens might kill us, first contact wouldn't be a peaceful one.

Could go the other way. Could be another Galaxy Quest situation.

What could aliens do to us that our own government hasn’t already done?
Lock us in our homes, or prevent us from travelling more than 5km, forcibly inject us with an unknown drug, prevent us from earning a living, or confiscating most of the fruits of our labour?

Tell you which day, which suburb and which partner you can have sex with this week! Look in your shopping bag and tell you what's essential and what's not etc etc!

If they want to take a hostage to ensure we stay 'peaceful', I'd be happy to send them Daniel Andrews.

The aliens will offer us free involuntary "probes" At least they won't tax us as hard as we get taxed now

For a society to advance that far to get to long-distance space travel, they will be far superior and peaceful, They would intervene and all wars would be stopped. No need to steel our recourses as there is unlimited resources in the universe.

I think we need a new name for these things. The term "conspiracy theory" in recent time has come to mean "something the government is lying about and doesn't even care that it will be shown to be true in 6 months time." So it doesn't suit gargage like this. Even the smallest of satellites can be seen and tracked with a backyard telescope. Astronomy software like Stellarium will even tell you where satellites are and when you can see them.
