I’m in the UK for work for another 3 days. Feels a long way from home currently! Due to fly back on emirates, but have booked a refundable AA/Qantas combination via the states as a back/up. All the plans in world sort of go to shit if you are 15000 kms from home!!
The irony is I’m over here working on the health aspects of a big companies business continuity plan. Suddenly the things on their “reasonable worst case” scenario list seem tame!

I believe the only impact we will see here is higher prices for fuel and any items that are, or can claimed to be, higher due to higher oil price. I have no doubt the supermarket duopoly here will raise prices on a range of items and blame it erroneously on higher oil prices. The poor will get poorer, the middle class will get poor and the rich will continue to profit.

Opening Night was a rather boring performance, I was expecting more from this much hyped event! I hope both players lift their game and deliver a production equal to what they initially promised!

With the shipping challenges in the Suez canal; area, we are seeing at least a months additional shipping time added to sea freight out of Europe. Currently a lot of ships are diverting the long way around the cape of Africa, which also means the Somali pirates will be working overtime as well targeting ships in that area.

What will Israel do now ? Stand back and look weak, or fire some missiles at a non descript target ? Or perhaps concentrate on disabling the Nuclear power plants the other side has ?
Are they stupid enough to start WW3 ?
U ready for that ?
We know its going to happen sometime.
Doubling up on preps.
We must plan for other peoples failures.

This whole situation smells fishy. Iran gives Israel plenty of warning about an impending attack so that they can prepare for it, and then launch a slow motion attack that gives them almost 12hrs notice, enough time to destroy the incoming missiles and drones before they even reach the border, preventing death and damage from debris. It’s like Iran wanted to be seen responding to save face but didn’t want to do any damage that would cause the Israelis to remove Iran from the map. And my bet is Biden promised the Iran something in return.

Not much damage to Israel or loss of life. But, There is always a but.. The USA told Iran don't do it, now the US looking weak. Weak when Russia invaded Ukraine, weak on Afghan withdrawal. Israel already approved counter strike - personally I think they have been looking for an excuse for many years to hit Iranian nuclear infrastructure. Economic markets don't think there will be a retaliation. There will be full scale war between Israel and Iran, just a matter of time. Iran has lots of economic problems and dissatisfied citizens the same for Lebanon, They don't want to get involved in a war. Each Iranian drone cost around 15K to produce and 250k for Israel to shoot it down. There is now a shortage of missiles with Ukrainian war going on.

I believe the start of WW3 when your not actually having the start of WW3 was performed to temporarily placate the ever restless Iranian Population.

Stop using their oil and watch the region fade into irrelevancy.

I believe the start of WW3 when your not actually having the start of WW3 was performed to temporarily placate the ever restless Iranian Population. Previous world wars like WW1 started with Russia amassing troops close to European borders. Germans thought it a threat and attacked France who was allied with the Russian, Brits got involved as the Germs went through some of their allied counties. The thinking of the day was an army could take a county by surprise even a grater military power, so Germany panicked and caused a world war. Economic hardship in Iran, China, most of the Middle East could also be a trigger for more conflict outbreaks. China youth unemployment sky high - they are no longer reporting figures because it looks bad.

Anyone hear the 'boast' from Iran that if the USA/Israel tried to retaliate, then they would use a weapon never before seen.
Good reference to a nuke, where from ? North Korea, Russia ?
U ready for WW3 ?

U ready for WW3 ? There is a prophesy that Iran nukes Israel sent from Liberia, but starts a global chain reaction of everyone nuking each other. Iran already has enough enriched uranium to build a few nukes, hence Israel wants to take them out. The sanctions on Iran is due to their continued nuclear program and generation of enriched uranium. Sanctions failed they continue unabated.

I saw a short paragraph embedded in some other info that the US is now the worlds leading oil exporter.. Both Russia and the middle east reducing production.. My thinking being this is the cause of the high fuel prices in North America.. Facts, details, experience, thoughts ??

We're paying about $8 a gallon here. Its worse in Europe. A bit over 1/3 of that pump price we pay here is actually taxes. Excise + Gst
Interestingly there is no excise on aviation fuels.
Because Airlines would go bust if they had to pay the same as everyone else.

The rich will be in deep doggie do do when the 'poor' and 'middle' classes wake up to the fact they are being used and call a halt to it. No more servants, that's gonna hurt 'em.

"When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty.” I reckon this is just a fantasy of the lower classes. It's pretty rare in history that rich folks get rolled by people below them on the ladder.
Normally they get rolled by up-and-comers who sometimes uses discontented average folks to to their bidding. Those up-and-comers then get to become Top-Dogs.

The French Revolution was followed by the Reign of Terror, hardly the utopia the working class had envisioned.
