It appears to be equivalent to a 28ga shot shell ??

It is a first for me.
There are a lot of PCP rifles out there that are very capable. Would make a good survival bit of gear if one had good method to recharge the cylinder.

Overkill for cane toads, even the humble 22 goes straight through and bounces back from the ground at you.
A 177 pellet sometimes also goes straight through their head, leaving a nice hole with blood oozing out and ...the s..ts hop away, for a bit at least and its another shot just to make sure !
Gonna get a semi auto air rifle, not for a survival tool, but to deal with the toads next summer.
