Flint & steel fire lighting is a sustainable method of easily making fire. You can make all the Vaseline cotton balls you like, but sooner or later, they will run out. Better to learn primitive methods of fire lighting so you will never be without fire.

Hi, I also keep a small rod of magnesium in my fire lighting kit, its great to shave off and use to get a fire going in a damp environment..
