Yes I saw that, people say they got up in the morning and it was a done deal with soldiers everywhere (they moved in at 3AM). Maybe in this case it was not exactly a surprise and it seems most people are not affected in their day-to-day life, but it still shows what can happen.

I done a small post on an alarm i bought that i felt was relevant to Martial Law.

It plugs into 240V with a 9V battery inside, when the power is cut the alarm lets out a 120db scream. Its ear piercing.

In the event on ML, i would guess, it would be a "middle of the night" job with power and phone/net services cut just prior.

Depending on geographical location, this could give you valuable minutes to get gone.
