Thats pretty cool, I've never tried anything like it. Does he do it professionally or just as a hobby?

Anyone know where this is? Or recognize it from movies? Yep. Its the bridge that Harry Potter uses to get to his BOL. Thats it Its the Glenfinnan viaduct. The Hogwarts Express (The Jacobite steam train) goes over around 1050am and back some time in the afternoon. Went there twice, first time I went to the dedicated viewing area which was much further away on the other side. The photos were not so great. So before I left I went and scouted out this area and when I came back past a few days later stopped by for the shot. It was raining a bit but worth it.

Nice lens, another Canonite I see. I could afford to go if I sold my 400/4 DO, but then I wouldn't have the kit I would like on the trip I researched a self-drive trip just to western Kenya, mostly in the Mara, including flights and with a couple of people to share the care hire, I reckon it can be done for maybe $5000. That's in real tight-arse mode, but it's what I did last time. Here are some pics of a few campsites. Masai Mara Tsavo Amboseli Man we gave that Alphasud a caning, I would get a 4x4 next time Thanks, that one is the Canon 200-400 with inbuilt 1.4x TC. Worked very well over there You must have given that car a real caning, we had a landy and flogged it Thought I might start a photography chat thread so as not to clog up others. ausprepforum.proboards.com/thread/4120/general-photography-chat

Hi all,
Do we have many photography enthusiasts on board?
Thought I'd start a thread for chatting about our photography for those interested instead of clogging up others threads.

It was great, really want to go back and possibly have a trip in the works to do so in the near future. Saw a bit of South Africa and Zimbabwe and a lot of Botswana last trip. Looking to do Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique and Madagascar next time. And a pic 5.11 shirt too, they are ok but I don't rate them nearly as much as the pants though. I bought the shirts as I just had nothing else suitable, all dress shirts then.

The 5.11 Stryke pants I have flex and stretch a bit as you move. One of the most comfy pants I have worn. Along with a semi elastic waist band so they fit well, no in between size where its slightly too loose or tight. They are also very good at water resistance, literally just wipes off. They dry quick when actually fully soaked. They are light weight and breath well too.
I trekked around Africa for a month in them on a photography safari, I had 3 pairs of these pants and probably just wore the brown pair for atleast 2 weeks. My mate wore jeans and he looked dirty after a few days, the Stryke pants looked pretty clean after two weeks of camping in the Kalahari Desert with laying in the dirt, walking through brush, making fires, climbing trees etc.
The only downside is they are possibly not as heavy duty as jeans, they caught up on some prickly bush I fell in at one point getting off the roof of the truck when chasing lions and that was a pain to get off.

I have several of the 5.11 Stryke pants in various flavors ((brown, khaki, green). My favourite are the battle brown, super comfy and useful design. They also don't stand out, I'll wear them everywhere www.511tactical.com.au/stryke-pant-flex-tac.htmlOtherwise jeans mostly I wear boots most of the time and have several pairs. Shirts vary a lot though I've taken to wearing plain black tee shirts a lot of late (bought a heap to travel with being black was easier to go a few days of use between washing )

Is it anything new? I remember when I was kid fuel prices were slow to change with slow increases. The past decade fuel prices just seem to do what ever they want when ever they want and can vary by 20c at a time! Not that I notice so much, company car and fuel card
