ours were a combination of the free range and battery, the 2 battery hens learnt well from the others, the only issue is that their beaks are little more than stubs and it seems to be a lot harder for them to get worms and bugs.

Ok, so I was just dickin around today and got to thinking, what would I miss most in a full scale, WROL, SHTF situation? I am not talking the obvious ones like shops or medical facilities, i mean the little things, is there a particular chocolate you love, hell even a type of deodorant, i dont know.
So i am putting the question out there, what non essential would you miss the most?
For me it is scotch, I dont drink very often at all, but one of the few "me" things i spend money on is scotch, and I only drink Glenfiddich or Dimples. The fact that these particular whiskies are not produced here means that very shortly after a complete SHTF I would be without them, and while I only have maybe one or 2 drinks a week, it is one of those unexplainable pleasures that I can enjoy at the moment.

we got 5 chooks a few months back. They have been fantastic. we get 3-4 eggs a day, however the bob tails and mice have been getting them the last week or 2.
They are incredibly low maintenance and wonderful pets, we have them in a pen for the most part, but let them out for a dy or 2 every now and then.

WW2 history book, Oven, Dolls We have a winner, took me a sec to work it out and that's what makes it the best!! The movie man on fire, a pair of garden calipers (the little ones) and a car cigarette lighter (and duct tape) Yep I agree. Thats the best one yet

what about some 'home made' items made by members? Some of us are lucky enough to have access to dehydrators and vac sealers etc, I have noticed a lot of the dehydrated food is very expensive (1kg dried mixed vegies for $20kg), if we could start selling excess of that it would be a benefit for everyone.
Also fishmox.....for the aqauriums all us preppers have :-)
