South Africa is still on the verge of a water crisis. They seem to have avoided running out but are on rations of 50L per person a day I believe.

When I was in Botswana a few years back the capital, Gaborone, had constant scheduled blackouts. I don't think Africa in general having power issues is anything new.

I guess Zombies could fall under bioterrorism, or a result of mutation from Nuclear Armageddon or nanoweapons perhaps.
If we do have an Apocalypse, I hope its Zombies. None of the others sound like much fun. (although I'd probably bet on over population getting us (if we can't get off Earth) or atleast over population being a cause for war leading to our end)

World War III or not, I still think the top 10 most dangerous places to live would still be in the middle to northern half of Africa.

I'm not much into hunting and have no interest in shooting a lion or elephant with anything other than my camera but its so annoying to hear people who clearly have no idea how things work over there bag on the hunters.
We cull animals here all the time for various reasons, its no different in Africa they cull animals as well for various reasons.
Instead of just having a ranger in Africa shoot the animal they came up with the idea of letting foreign hunters pay large amounts of money to shoot the animal for them. The money they gained is then used for breeding programs, food, medical needs, more rangers to protect against poachers and so on.
I've been to Africa and I can honestly say with out the money that the "trophy" hunters inject into the conservation programs some species would be far worse off.

Here's an idea, instead of giving them 100's of millions every year in "aid", why don't we buy 11 SUKHOI SU 35's instead.

It was only later, when Mr Webber saw the blood on his hands, did he realise he’d hurt anybody.
“He couldn’t see anything, so he didn’t know he had even stabbed anybody, let alone killed them, until he saw the blood on his hands later,"
I find that really hard to believe. I don't disagree with his actions I just think that part is BS.
I really couldn't see him getting charged either. If the police want to charge someone for the deaths they better charge themselves first for not being there before they charge the kid.

One wonders why they didn't lease the Darwin port to the US?
Hmm, not really.
I only wonder which politician bought a new luxury summer house around that time.

What sort of prepping gear do people carry when in you're business attire or formal gear say at a wedding?
Minimal.
knife - Spyderco PM2 Torch - Fenix PD35
I usually take a small shoulder bag or messenger bag to a wedding for the camera and a couple of lenses which also has enough room for the PM2/PD35, wallet, keys, phone, sunnies etc.
If you need a suitcase, there's only one brand

I see professional systems as hard wired systems with back up HDDs for the footage.
Wireless systems are, IMO, amateur systems for convenience/simplicity.
If your worried about the recording unit/HDD's being stolen mount the recording device into a safe.
Having to charge the batteries or otherwise supply power to the "wireless" units is enough of a reason to go a traditional system from the start.

I don't think there's much to discuss on the topic of aliens visiting Earth and what the scenarios might be. If they exist and if they did visit Earth, what we want and what we can do is basically irrelevant.
Any other beings that have the capability to travel to Earth are going to be FAR more technologically advanced than us, therefore we would be at their mercy.

Never driven one. The stick is just in a different position, I'll be fine. Lol except for knowing which gears are where 😉 not many have a diagram showing you....trying to jam it from first into reverse instead of second doesn't do it much good! Yep, I already know where they are.

I plan on getting into making my own beer eventually. The main bit of kit I'm looking at is called a grainfather. It can also be adapted to be used as a still.

I always wondered why they had such a short expiry date, I could never see a reason why, when unused, it would not be fine to use in a decade.
Once you start using it though its life span will be much shorter.

12ga shotgun would have sorted this problem permanently.
Odd that he went to so much effort and expense though....

What you say is true but it was happening long before online shopping and even without online shopping things would have gone down the same path.
Take bunnings for example, I'd have to really think to try and locate other hardware stores these days. I can tell you where a dozen USED to be, but they are closed and gone because of bunnings.
Even the small bunnings stores that were bought out stores have closed. In place are new "super" sized bunnings stores.
Lets face it regardless of online shopping if your regional or remote you were never going to have a super sized bunnings store in a town or area with a population of only a few hundred people.

I always carry some $50's in the wallet to do whatever I want, or buy whatever I need, for a few days if they don't take card or have issues but that cash usually stays in the wallet unchanged for months. Paywave 99% of the time now, just so convenient not having shrapnel to deal with. That said it will still be a while before I stop carrying atleast some cash in the wallet for just in case. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it
