My concern with shutting down pistol clubs, is will the government waiver the participation rule, or will they cancel licences because you haven't met the required number of shoots? SSAA has been on to this. Not sure where its at though.

Yeah this is going to be frustrating. Personally I do a fair bit of load development to come up with an accurate load based on a particular powder & projectile weight. No doubt shortages of those specific components will throw all that effort out the window and necessitate redeveloping loads with whatever is left. This was the reason I switched to Aussie made powders and projectiles the last time this happen a while back. Fortunately I still had quite a supply of primers and enough brass to last a life time or more.

Got to love the UK article. Talks about Australian gun shops while showing pictures form American gun shops. This is where the idiots here see those and think we have that stuff here.
The increased ammo buying here, if true its the media after all, has less to do with the corona virus and more to do with the panic buying in the US creating shortages here/increased prices along with our dollar going to hell meaning increased prices still.

As much as I'd like to see something happen I'm almost certain it will just disappear. Like for example most incidents that involve police and the misuse of firearms, its kept as quiet as possible or just disappears.

I have one of the PPQ Navy "tactical" models, the original paddle mag release version.
Best attribute is the trigger. It's the best out of the box trigger on a POLYMER gun I have ever tried and I've owned or tried most of them.
The ergos are also pretty good, fits smaller hands well.
I don't particularly dislike anything about it apart from not being a steel frame SAO. Its quite good for what it is really.
But it depends what you want it for.

Well I saw it go up more than 30c in 3 days here.
Same fuel, same station. 95 went from 1.52c to 1.85c on Friday. Not that I really care since I don't pay for it anyway but its a joke that it can change so much so quickly these days.

I hear the UK is going pretty much the same way, but restrictions will become permanent for types of knives. They also have the kind of appearance based laws Aus has for firearms -- ie. the poms banned "zombie knives", with the definition being: "the weapon sometimes known as a “zombie knife”, “zombie killer knife” or “zombie slayer knife”, being a blade with— (i)a cutting edge; (ii)a serrated edge; and (iii)images or words (whether on the blade or handle) that suggest that it is to be used for the purpose of violence.” How many items does that description fit? Does a pocket knife with a saw back on the blade and a skull or zombie printed on it qualify? Ridiculous when laws are based on such obscure wording.
Yes they did and we also followed suit here. Zombie knives, or any knife that meets their stupid definition now, is now banned in Australia. Its purely an appearance based ban, just like military looking firearms ban in Australia.

This just shows how stupid those people are.
A dangerous knife is a blunt knife.
Blunt knives mean you apply more pressure to cut something so when you eventually slip on the object, which the likelihood of slipping is also increased by the fact your pushing harder and have less control, all that force you were pushing on the knife means the results.... well you can imagine.
Besides do they think people have not heard of things like files? or grinders? Its just plain friggin stupid.

If it were me I'd pre plan the trip for lunch stops over the 3 days.
I'd scout the desired area's I want to stop at for lunch and a day or so before the walk I'd take a garbage bag with 3-5x 1.5-2Lt bottles of water (extra for cooking/cleaning) and some food, canned chunky meat stew etc and some chocolate/energy bars and bury the plastic bag of supplies somewhere at the lunch stop area's.
Burying the water/supplies keeps it all hidden plus being under ground its not going to be affected from the heat, bury in the shade for extra protection, the plastic bag will take up no space when you leave and the plastic bottles crush down as well.
Having a small cooking set and camp shovel to retrieve the supplies could just be part of the pack load out as well.
I'd opt for light weight shoes that are worn in if your walking on good terrain, no real need for boots. I wore my work mongrel boots on the last day hike I did as they are quite comfy but after 8 hours of constant walking up and down a mountain, I was feeling those steel caps every time I lifted my foot.

There are so many crazy things on that list but "Performing a traditional funeral" ?
You would think NOT "Performing a traditional funeral" would be a sign. Based solely on simply going against their tradition, I've no idea what their traditional funeral actually involves though.

Here, "Kill All Jews Day" would be celebrated by a large stack of the bodies of those who were stupid enough to participate, with the devout (and not-so devout) Jews and Christians gleefully stacking up those who tried it! Wishful thinking I think.
At least its only marching in London to protest Jews.

I don't believe the NZ attack had any influence on this, the media etc are just trying point to something easy as the "justification" for the attacks when we all know the real reasons behind them. These attacks are nothing new and it was expected something would be attempted on Easter regardless of what happened in NZ.
Of course we don't hear nearly as much on these attacks, simply because it shows islam/muslims = bad and that's not very "PC" at all.

Hmm haven't heard a word about it on the TV, I don't watch TV a lot but was just watching the news and never saw it mentioned. Given my limited TV watching I still heard ALOT about NZ attacks for weeks after the event.
I guess these bombings being bombings and not shootings also in parts of the world that are not Oz, NZ, Europe or USA the media doesn't really care.

No issues here. Didn't need the VPN.
Its one thing to block sites that allow the downloading of illegal media such as movies but its entirely different to block legitimate sites just because they are firearms related. Lucky for them they didn't as I'm sure the SFF would have been interested to hear about it.

The post was about disaster humour, there is some truth to the fact that the proverbial hits the fan but the fan is not turning. Lights out in Australia causes huge problems, developing countries just roll with the punch. If a CME toasted the earth's electricity grid in the short term it would just be another day in Africa. I don't know about that.
Sure perhaps out in the very outer areas or small communities where they are less dependent on electricity and technology it might be less effected, for awhile, the more dense areas or cities though if power and thus other essential services/utilities/communications go out for a little longer than normal Africa would very quickly become a full on war zone.
Remember a large amount of the population leaves in poverty while a large amount also lives in nice homes or in compounds, behind barbed wire and electric fences.
This photo of Cape Town emphasizes the divide.
