XY wagon when I was 15 then XA k code Fairmont 6months later. Driving assessor in our little town was arsehole any young fella that turned up to do his license assessment in a V8 was an instant fail on first attempt. Got it a week later on second attempt. 40 years later still have an XA(not the same one). My second car was an XT sedan. So much body roll I could scrape the door handles around corners. But I could change a welch plug in my tea break. I hear what your saying mates and I pulled a motor in an XW GT replaced rear main seal back in and running in 4 hours years ago. Took 2 hours pulling crap off the challenger on the weekend just to tighten the rocker cover bolts definitely not looking forward to when I have to change plugs.

Would a clean, new metal paint can from a craft store work as a small Faraday container ?? ?? I've read people use a galvanized steel garbage can for this type storage.. The paint can would be water tight also..

Transplanted a heap of baby spinach on Sunday that was doing nothing outside to long tubs on the kitchen windowsill, has now doubled in size in two days. The trials of relearning to garden in Tassie.

Not much in the garden a/c being in a rental with no garden beds and bloody wallabies. Growing what I can in tubs and hanging pots a few spuds, broad beans, silverbeet, celery, chives, mint and mangelwurzel. Shops have been stripped of most seeds and seedlings I bet the panic buyers don't realise how long most things take to grow and how challenging gardening is in Tassie. A couple of dozen cauliflower and broccoli potted up yesterday in the hothouse ready to be transplanted in a few weeks.

Well the shopping craziness has subdued, and this is probably in large part due to forced buying limits. But I think we may have a whole lot of different kinds of crazy on the horizon. Mass job losses, deep recession, people forced to isolate with people they don’t get along with and denied the ability to socialise with the people they do get along with! Add poverty, racial tensions, fear, drugs, alcohol, stupidity and antisocial or criminal tendencies to the mix. We’ll see. My thoughts exactly. The virus is what it is, doesn't overly concern me. Just managing to hang on to my job at the moment. The aftermath is what concerns i.e. what policies and laws that will get passed with the virus as the excuse. WAPOL already using drones to check on people, it wasn't planned beforehand. Eh, right!

I had a meeting with my financial adviser last night, and basically economy wise, it's not looking good at all. The main advice of what we can do right now with our super accounts, is call them up NOW and request that your money be transferred to CASH so it is locked in place to weather the storm that is coming now, as the current trend is falling faster then it did for the GFC ! This will save you loosing thousands on your super, I lost 2k just in the last 2 days and 3k the week before. $80k in 3 weeks, thinking the same

The bushfire and corona crisis has caused me to do an honest self assessment of my preparedness for short term events, and provided the opportunity to see how my children and spouse react. I found I was more geared for bugging out than in, relying more on procuring fresh meat by hunting than storing meat at home (apart from approx 60 meals of dehydrated beef and chicken). I now consider this plan to be less than ideal for a home quarantine situation, so have increased the amount of meat I keep at home. I'm planning for a home quarantine significantly longer than the 14 days the gooberment (copyright Norseman) recommend. The mrs has really got on board with prepping because of the corona scare. She actively supports my prepping at the moment. My two adult children are both very capable and have independent minds, and both still think the current crises is a non event. I prep for them so they don't have to. [ My missus doesn't think I'm quite so crazy anymore also
