It appears India is likely to run out of coal by the end of the week. India running out of coal too.
Supplies are getting squeezy tight for some primary materials. I’m not one to usually stock up huge amounts of food, fuel etc but i might reconsider this and have a crack at filling a 44 with some rice ‘n grain. Just in case… Hope you haven't arrived at the party after everyone has left. I got 5 of those 44g drums full of rice and pasta and a heap of smaller ones as well. I had to upgrade my trailer to a caged dual axle rated for 1.5 tonne just in case I need to relocate to my retreat.

From now on, whenever I want to describe something as incredibly awesome, I'm going to say it's 'DirtDivad'.

The UN are morons. How will electric cars work in a vast country like Australia? Where you could go 500km between towns? Is the government going to put massive recharge stations all across the outback? Will my electric car drive the 350km to my retreat without recharge, whilst towing 1.5 tonne? Will the government provide a recharge station on my retreat that is off grid? Not going to happen hete.

How does one mine bitcoin, isnt there great amounts hardware and power consumption that ties directly into it?
I remember watching a video back in 2012 or abouts of a person who had all these mini computers attached to eachother, like atleast 100 computers all piggy backed to each other, i just remember seeing how many power cables he had plugged into the wall. The cost/benefit ratio would want to be good i suppose, if not then whos paying the power bill?
He has 3 or 4 old gaming pc's that he upgraded (apparently some parts were in short supply). I've asked him for an update, but from memory last time I asked he was making $125 to $150 a week, depending on the value of bitcoin. Don't know what increased power usage is, but I've asked. He's no dummy, he would have done his sums.

Might have to look into that on my retreat. Plant fast growing trees, get money from government as carbon credit, then cut down trees and burn as firewood, releasing all that stored carbon back into the atmosphere. Bwahaha, this Woke crap is awesome.

There's a lot of dodgy deals still done in cash. Can see that expanding significantly if cash is banned. 'banned' means a common occurance not authorised by the grubbyment, not something that can't happen. Whos going to take paper cash if you cant deposit it in a bank or pay for goods & services with it? Remember what India did with the 1000 Rupee notes .... 30 days notice to turn them in for new currency. Nobody accepted 1000 Rupee notes after that 30 days expired because they were wortless from that date onwards. Cash will be like a very versatile barter card. Who will accept it? Who knows for sure unless cash is banned, but probably anyone supplying illegal goods or services they don't want taxed by the grubbyment. Here's an example for you Milspec: johnny is a tradie who wants to buy some dope, but his dealer only accepts cash, because it is untraceable. Johnny needs cash, so he does the odd cash job to get the cash to buy the dope and avoid gst. His customer pays cash because he gets a significant discount. Works like this already. Your local drug dealer down the pub ain't going to accept bitcoin. Ps: I don't support the taking of illegal drugs. Any money spent on drugs would be much better spent on ammo or Vietnamese backpackers. Another point: how do electronic payment transactions occur in the very large parts of Australia where no internet or mobile coverage exists? Like even 100km from our nation's capital there are significant blackspots. How will they occur when bushfire, which are predicted to increase over the next decades, destroy mobile and internet infrastructure, just like it did on the NSW south coast a couple of years ago? Whole towns devoid of electronic payment options because the power lines were destroyed by fire.

I've got a Uniden PC-122 ssb unit at my retreat. Runs off a battery connected to an 80w panel. 40ch, am/usb/lsb connected to a stationmaster antenna. There doesn't seem to be much traffic on 27meg these days.

The thing about high tech ... is its often surprisingly easy to spam or jam. Once you know how ... I'm wondering how to evade surveillance and death from well organised Chinese occupation forces that saturate an area in strength ... Or in Victoria from Oct 15, how to hide from Diktator Dan's mobile heavily armed anti work goon forces. I suggest be highly mobile, be where the goon squads aren't, have multiple locations where you can hide/rest/re-equip.

My comms plan for total shtf is basically just 5w uhf for keeping in touch around the retreat and surrounds, and putting a retrans station on the hill for any trips into town.

I don't get the need for long distance comms in a grid down situation.

I'm thinking perhaps hide among rocky outcrops or large boulders. I had a rock look very much like a wombat last weekend. It was only the lack of movement that gave it away as a rock. Rocks can give off a heat signature very much like a person or animal.
