Australians are suckers for punishment and cop a lot of crap before we break. high costs of food, fuel, housing, healthcare or anything else for that matter are crazy high compared to the rest of the world (except maybe europe) so why not gouge our purse a bit more? media is not interested cause the sheep be asleep. We’ll whinge but do nothing. BAU

hootchies are one of my top ten bob, bov items.
i'm tall so i don't like hammocks to sleep in. as i get older i find that after a while the hyper extension of my knees in hammocks becomes painfull.

hahaha 900 litres of lime cordial! or on the bright side algae for making home biodiesel.
Do you think painting opaque colour would help?

As i understand it 2 weeks of that 43 days is floating reserves, oil or fuel that is on it's way to Australia in ships. those boats would be easy to stop so it's probably more like 29 days of supply before we run out if anyone is serious in disrupting our supply. It's ironic that Australia is awash with all forms of energy except the most strategic one, oil. When i see miles and miles of sheep lined up in traffic all with just the driver in the car i just shake my head and say why.

Hubby is a Geo in the mines, the other day I heard him offloading form the Ute and went out to have a look. He had bought some core home from the drill rigs, really large heavy pieces. They are going to be garden edging. We have also used the outside of an old washing machine as a compost bin! haha it must be a geo thing! my old man was a geo and we have drill cores for book ends and drill bits for door stoppers! those old sample bags were very tough and light, i used to use them for a whole range of things as a kid, it's too bad i've used them all up.

10 years ago I was astonished to see that nearly every business in Vanuatu was owned by Chinese. I'm not surprised they want to do more there. PNG has itchy feet too. Have we really done enough to help our poorer oceanic friends? they seem to be looking elsewhere for economic support and are likey to get it if we don't lift our game. We have some ok policies such as temporary employment visas but that is limited and less likely to help those back at home in the islands for the short term.

Except China is owed Trillion of dollars by the US. I'd say the Chinese have some balls in their hand as well.

I'd go an arc welder for farm work particulalry if you won't need or use it much. you can weld fairly crusty metal and it takes nothing to set them up. Arc welding is probably a bit more difficult because as you weld your electode is consumed so you need to concentrate on push or pull of electrode as well as adjusting its length as electrode is consumed. stick welders are not as good for long continuous welds as you sometimes have to swap electroded mid weld.
MIGs require a bit of stuffing around getting it set up to your particuler type of work as different jobs and metals require more or less wire feed etc. you also can go through nozzels if you stuff up the settings and fill them with excessive spatter etc. MIGs make nice welds and can weld continuously for bigger jobs. I'd go gasless MIG for farm work so you don't have to lug a gas bottle whereever you go.
Lincoln seems to be the way to go but i don't own one so not really sure if the price justifies the cost but as you know you get what you pay for.

I pretty sure its an SA ( and Broken Hill ) thing. My foodland is actually very competitive with the other big two. the fruit and veg are often better quality and cheaper as well.

hi there highlander, i'd give up on the GC hinterland and go further west i.e. Inglewood, texas, Charleville or anywhere on a good river out that way. If the GC goes belly up the locusts will scour those hills.

my old man added to the jar a splash of wine at times as well. one jar we had developed a soil layer of dead roaches. This was in Brisbane and it worked a treat.

Lube up the inside of an old jar with vaseline and drop in a piece of tomato (patent pending).

Bible prophecy: Damascus... "not a stone will be left upon a stone". This will be fulfilled quite soon, IMO. Would you mind giving the reference please? 33.5138° N, 36.2765° E 😜
