opsec.... is a funny topic
90% of the time your own judgement is fine
I seen a post here advertising you own firearms, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT, firearms are highly sort after in the black market, a class H firearm is extremely valuable, and advertising glock or s&w you're asking to be robbed
with food purchases, options go on and on, your starting a "store" or had a little extra cash and we consume a lot of it... it's not uncommon to see a massive amount of long term foods in trolleys, worrys you that much then multiple trips or use your better half... shops don't really care, and they don't know where you live... unless they are a friend then use a different register or self service
be careful what you tell people, in Australia we are very lucky as preppers as we don't have the same security concerns as the US, most ozzies will goto a evac centre... so in general we are quite safe

well if it's need... people have survived in the wild with nothing but the clothing on their back...
so what you need is the drive to survive

yep at one stage I knew some of them quite well (for minors) and there were a lot from that school that worked there also, one girl stands out tho, her name was amee (I think that's the spelling it was weird) dumb as bat s#%t, the type of girl that thought a kiss made her pregnant... I believe she was summerset, but a 06 or 07 class (I can't remember... there were so many of them lol)

got that right, a good tv advertising campaign (a good one) designed to inform sheeple, would be awesome...
we had heaps on speeding and DUI and both have had massive results, even the quit smoking campaigns have shown success, even the look up and live campaign is working, but the stigma of been prepared for a disaster.... depends on the ses and rural fire service that really do everything they can to inform the people with their limited budgets....

night crime is going up there to, the dreads from Miami are moving in :/ so yea know robina... and don't like it....

if any shop owners are watching this, it maybe a good idea to create a 3 day disaster kit with the local ses, and push sales of it at ses recruiting/fundraising drives (even donate a % of profit to them) a quality ses group will accept it with open arms and a huge smile just keep costs low, and no knives etc (think ecac centres or a cheap multi tool...)

2 weeks is a lot better than 3 days...
but to convince the sheeple that use every excuse under the sun to not prepare... the ses are dead on the money to attempt to buy some setup time...
let's say for argument sake (I know gone off topic) all high risk areas have a 3 day kit, and the government gives the advice 2 weeks is better, (publicly) it's the best campaign that all au ems will stand by, but the ses struggles to get people prepared for 3 days :/ (it's just not that popular to ask the Australian people to give 3 days worth of setup time so ems can.concentrate on important issues before deciding what to do about food and water) and ems can do a lot in 72 hours... a lot...
but there needs to be a bigger advertising campaign (the rfs be prepared for bushfires is a success, a lot of fire plans have been made, but they never follow through...)
its just a short coming in our society and a massive weakness... people care more about who's kitchen rules than a major environmental disaster

and I thought woodridge is bad (any Queenslander has herd of this infamous place....) sounds really bad I hope you can move out of town, in a area like that and shtf having a inch bag will be the best (and only) option.... it maybe worth seeing who else is in your state and "convince" them your a asset and add to their group

ses screamed 3 days last I read one of their pamphlets
fema have started screaming 3 days also
if they have shifted to 2 weeks, it needs to be advertised more, a lot more every storm/fire season
but for disaster relief, 3 days is quite acceptable for sheeple, (and for the fight for the sheeple friends we don't wanna see get screwed over) 3 days isn't enough but a easy start point (and with our disaster history) aid is normally established in that time frame... so without looking like a hard core prepper, you can get heaps of materials from the ses on the matter with a phone call (I have worked beside the ses and they still have those guides)
just think of it as another tool to help out the unprepared friend/love ones to get a good start in the ongoing war in not looking insane

well I can't make it... (sorry) suggestion, with the pocket sas survival guide, make a successful a frame shelter (even if just you) set a fire without matches or lighter (that won't ignite a bushfire, that means a dry fire brake, and a small fire (so 30cm by 30cm max) ) if there is a group, bring radios (cb or uhf) and try radio communications with call signs and codes (this is a skill needed and needs to be practiced) try a point man (for a hour at a time) and play with leadership (you have a time to work with just roster different people for the role and "play soldier" those are main suggestions, try a defense drill with camp (yea may not be successful but will be a wakeup call to others) good luck (post the same offer in peters page oz prepper so it's out there )

is there anyone you trust to babysit your home??? but a different note, it's NOT a silly idea, it's a grate idea, if you were in the USA where preppers are more common... having local meetups is extremely doable... here you just need to take the few of us out there, still a BRILLIANT IDEA no matter how you look at it

you're been a little silly... it's a awesome idea... some problems have been put forward... to coming for a few days... lets say for argument sake we have this meet up, it goes for 7 days (yep 7) yet you can only be there for 3... I doubt anyone will think less of you, or its organized for a particular week but through other commitments can only make it on day 3.. it's just something that come with group get togethers
