If you have a vehicle that you want to show off, here is the place to do it!
Whether it be a purpose built Bug Out Vehicle, 4x4, Hunting Rig, Camper, Bike or whatever feel free to post photos, any modifications, any prepping specific mods, future plans etc
Cheers, Frank

Heres mine... 105 Series Landcruiser. Fairly standard but goes anywhere I need it to go. So far I have added - - UHF - Bullbar, sidesteps and rails - Driving lights - Roofrack and awning - 2.5" exhaust and extractors - 2" Lift (done since the photos were taken) Haven't added much lately as have been toying with the idea of upgrading to something a bit more modern and comfier on road for the family, but that is yet to be decided on

My last Cruiser Road into Rainbow Valley. Overlooking Ningaloo marine park. (in RAAF no-mans land) Tyre changing near Birdsville. Quandong Pt, just north of Broome. The Pentecost crossing, Gibb River Road. Ruby Gap, East MacDonnel ranges. Past the "Vehicles not recommended past this point" sign. Filling up from Jerry cans with a jiggler. Diamantina NP. QLD. On the banks of the Ord River, near Kununurra. Port Warrander, most remote part of the Kimberley coast accessible by vehicle. Inter-dune clay pan. Simpson Desert. On top of Big Red. Simpson Desert. RIP old girl, we had some good times. Stay tuned for the next version on my 75 series Cruiser.

Very nice, the photos and your cruiser. I'll take a photo of my hilux in the morning. Nothing as photogenic though...

You Aussies sure are lucky! I have the Toyota Tacoma which is the USA version of the hilux. It is 4x4 with a 4.0 liter gas engine. I like this truck but, I would LOVE it if I could get the diesel version! Not even an option here.

he he, yes that was a great rig. The only problem was that it was petrol, man it would suck the fuel. It was pretty rough, but that's a plus point IMO as you don't worry about getting it scratched. Only cost about $5000, but we added a lot of goodies like solar as you can see. It had an inverter, two fridges, slideout cooker etc, that stuff makes for a comfortable camp and you can out of it for months. I think all those pics were taken on a single trip, there are some blog entries about it starting here robgray.com/graynomad/issues/issue_041/index.phpfor anyone interested. I miss being able to head off on a trip like that, with a good 4x4 you can pretty much go anywhere. I love 45 series Cruisers but they are a little short on creature comforts, that's why I now have a 75 series and I'm designing a camper for the back of it. I've started a section on my site for that robgray.com/graynomad/gov/index.phpNot much there yet because the project is on hold while I build the house. The main difference between this and the last one is that the new one is designed to live inside, living outside a 4x4 is great when the weather is nice but pretty tedious in horizontal sleet And I want to spend time in the high country as well as in the tropics.

It was pretty rough, but that's a plus point IMO as you don't worry about getting it scratched. People criticize me all the time because i use my car as it was intended. I dont go out looking for damage, but its a 4wd..if it happens it happens. Weekend before last's camping trip seen me end up with some nice new bush pin strips BUT, caring for my car, the following weekend (just gone) i washed, serviced and polished it. Still some scratches, but you get that. I didnt buy me no shopping trolley.

gray - those shots are good enough to be promotional shots for camping and 4wding in Australia, a lot of us 'want' to do this and that, and never seem to find the time/money/inclination, but you..... well, the photos say more than i ever could :-)
