Lemon and Olive trees. Lots of herbs, for cooking and medicinal. Mint, Peppermint, Thyme, Dill, a couple different types of Rosemary, Marjoram etc. Also got a delivery of some fresh garlic from my old mans garden, its the absolute best. Also got some chilli coming thru, absolutely resilient plants, pull them out and a couple months later have some more growing.

Today I planted some Siberian tomato seeds. They say they do ok in the cooler weather ( well, being Siberian you would think so ) - our climate is mediterranean - so will see how we go. I'll put some in pots, sheltered from wind etc, some out in the garden, and some in my plastic hothouse.
I also planted some broccoli seeds, and will plant them out when/if they sprout. And, I found some dill seeds from my late grandma's garden - 2007 the container said - will see how I go with them - must've sown at least 500 seeds -at least 1 has to grow!

The tomatoes I buried have sprouted, and the herb garden is taking off. Potted herbs are doing very well also, and my chillies are flowering.
I put in a "baby gourmet leaf mix" of seeds from Diggers yesterday, so I'm hoping they'll sprout over the next few days with harvesting over the next few weeks. Pomegranates are almost ripe, and limes & cumquats are forming on the trees. Lettuces are picking up after wilting for a while.
Beetroot seedlings I planted are struggling; I'll see how they go over coming weeks.
I had a big day in the shed last day off, so I'm hoping to get back in the garden over the next week or two.

Not in the garden per se, but on the kitchen counter: sprouts.
I've started with a mix of adzuki beans, mung beans, lentils, and fenugreek. I have a multi-tray "kitchen seed sprouter", so I'm starting one tray every second day atm. This should let me have consistent supply over time, and eventually I'll start with different seed varieties to sprout.

All the seeds I planted in the pots have sprouted - even my broad beans are looking pretty good. Did some cleaning - removed most of my tomato plants - only have 2-3 left.
Will prepare the beds for winter crops.

I use to do sprouts often and micro greens (in shallow soil trays outside - which you can cut and let grow back at least for a while). I think being set up to grow these is essential for prepping. Such a quick way to get quick way to get greens.

Some of my older seeds failed to sprout; I've now bought some newer seeds of various types. The next step is to try dried legumes from the supermarket to see if they sprout; this will be cheaper than buying packets of sprouts from the garden section of department stores or the green building.
I put more foods into pots today; chillies (yes, I'm an addict), rocket, spinach, nasturtium, and beet leaves. Used in conjunction with other leafy greens and herbs I've planted I should be set for at least a couple of serves of salad each day - and if you've seen the price of salad & herbs at the supermarket lately with their total lack of flavour - you'll see the immediate value in this.

Not much so far as there's no garden beds at the house we're leasing but there is a large sun room at the back. Got several large pots with ferns that are going crazy(yes I know I can't eat them) also planted a dozen garlic cloves Tuesday night 4 of which have sprouted already. Got a heap of vege seeds last weekend which I put in the remaining pots. Appears to be a great growing environment in the sun room so will also try to find some small fruit trees to pot. Literally tons of BlackBerry growing along the roadsides down here and there were hundreds of field mushrooms popping up in the lawn on the beach front a couple of kms down the road so looks like a bit of free foraging in the future.

Actually, the bracken fern has edible fronds, although they are known to be carcinogenic (along with other effects of ptaquiloside) I guess WTSHTF it's a question of which will kill you first - starvation or cancer... ATM - not too much - I grew snow peas in 2 containers - worked really well - had a few decent feeds. Broad Beans flopped - dunno what happened there.
About to plant out seeds for my summer crops ( well, my attempts at a summer crop ), as well as preparing the garden beds with manure & compost.

We have left the soil fallow for this year and are eating whatever grows wild so a few things. A couple of bits if broccoli and cauliflower, some goosberiies, capsicum but a ton of sweet potato.

So far I've spent 4 days pulling out weeds in some of my garden beds (it's really the only option if I want to plant things straight away). The pigs are loving having some green stuff to eat and my carpal tunnel is giving me so much hell that I can't sleep but I will persist until it's done! I've planted a small section of peas and beans, put potatoes in 2 tyre stacks (need to put dirt in a 3rd to use it) and put mint, thyme, parsley, chives and basil seeds into one garden bed. We'll see what comes up.
The rest of the house yard (non-garden beds) can have some sheep panels moved around with a couple of lambs to eat the weeds.
And I want to find some blackberry brambles to grow along the fenceline.

Trying something new - planted some apple seeds from an orchard nearby, also some native peach seeds-just to see if they will grow. composting the garden beds for summer crops - and planted some climbing beans-trying for an early crop if not too late. Went to Bunnings-they had broccoli & red cabbage seedlings for $2 each - about 7-9 seedlings per punnet.

Today I planted some seeds into seedling trays - Black Russian tomatoes ( seriously, these are the tastiest tomatoes I have ever eaten ), Black Russian Cherry Tomatoes ( ok, i do love eating these ), Thai Pink Cherry Tomatoes, Lebanese Cucumber and Thai Pumpkin.
Collected more Native Peach fruits, so will try planting them as well - i figure at least some of them will grow.

Also, if anyone is interested, I can send you some Thai Pink Cherry Tomato seeds - I bought a packet, and I reckon there must be 1000 seeds in the packet.

I'm going to propagate some Dovyalis. A South African fruiting shrub/small tree. Delicious sweet-sour fruits that 99.999% of people wouldn't recognise as edible and abundant, huge thorns like super sharp knitting needles that make a hedge of this species genuinely impenetrable. Thorns on Roses, Blackberries, boxthorn and cacti pale into insignificance compared to this plant. Sustenance and defence in the one unit!
I have been deeply impressed by a few hedge rows of this stuff I came across locally. Really nice looking glossy leaves on it too so it looks 'nice and harmless' from a distance.

At the moment only radishes and my coriander, any idea what to make with radishes? My main Radish uses (besides just eating them whole as snacks) are: Sandwiches with a nice sprinkling of salt on the thinly sliced radishes. Sliced into salads. Korean Pickles.

Yep, pickled radish is awesome. You could go down the fermentation path or use vinegar & sugar.
That said, my favourite radish dishes are: - sliced radish (especially daikon) liberally salted about 30 minutes prior to serving (a nice palette cleanser), or - fresh radishes with a little salt and butter. Very French.
