What is everyone doing different in the light of this event?
We are just more alert for other attacks but we don't live or work in populous locations anyway
Apart from avoiding shopping centres town etc

Fortunately channel 9 and the abc have both put the Islamic side of thing forward, including stating the flag is Islamic, although they still do not know the motivation. Oh and they are worried about all the never appearing backlash (we are not muslim after all, so we do not apply collective guilt upon an entire religion)

I'm acting the same, I'm pretty prepared, I've got a happy life and I live my life well. I do go to the city occasionally, but mostly semi-rural. Terrorists rely on people being scared, I'm not.

They are bloody hard to shoot around. Takes a hell of a lot of practice before you get any accuracy.
I was impressed the Feds at parliament house had suppressed M4's. Probably so not to wake the residents.
Interesting choice of target. Takes away the food and water negotiating chip.

We can't help but wonder if a Lindt store was picked as they're the one's who don't pay for halal certification. And a lot of people are boycotting cadbury and nestle in favour of Lindt for this reason.

I recall Nate ( a member from the onset ) warning that this would happen.
Me, I'd go in there and take the mongrel out, but, on the flip side, if they capture him they may be able to extract some good intel.
Watching the 2 girls run out really forced me to choke back a few tears. If this animal is captured, he gets a nice cell, tv, library, 3 square meals a day (hopefully pork), he'll sue the govt for mistreatment, get a multi million $$ payout, then plan/pay for the next attack.
I hope he dies of lead poisoning.
Unfortunately, this is a sign of the times. Expect more, prepare more.
Prayers for the victims, their families, and all thse involved.

the later this gets the more chance of something going wrong, the asshat is going to be wired, tired, paranoid at every noise and shadow. If he is still in there at midnight onwards, he will be so exhausted from the adrenaline he will be thinking even less then he is now and some poor aussie is going to cop a bullet because this guy doesnt like the fact we eat pork/respect women/have a mind of our own.

Not to mention that if the suspect is the least bit committed to "the cause" then he may well do something drastic before giving in to exhaustion and paranoia if has the "take them with me" mentality.
