Morning all,
I though we could discuss what we have for water filtration/purification and what we plan on having.
My current supplies include
- 1x Katadyn pocket water filter - 2x Sawyer Mini Water Filters - 3x Life straws - Several packets of tablets - 1x SteriPEN Classic UV water purifier - Plain bleach
Planning to add in the next few months - Another Katadyn Pocket - 2x Spare filters for the Kataydn Pocket - Some more Sawyer Mini filters, I like the point one system to convert a bucket into a gravity fed filter. - Another SteriPEN - A SteriPEN Sidewinder hand powered UV water purifier

Currently we just have a few of the life straws for when we are out and about, besides that I will be boiling everything, In the future I would like to put together a filter, sand and charcoal.

Yeah i have made up a kit, I use trees for transpiration and rain collection, boiling, i have a sawyer mini water filter and purification tablets. To be honest I learnt along time ago boiling is a pretty secure method, I used it pretty much 99% of the time i spent in remote East Africa. Its pretty full proof.

1x Lifestraw 1x Lifestraw family 4x Lifestraw bottles 2x SteriPen 2x SteriPen filters About 50kg of calcium hypochlorite (ie granular pool chlorine)
I really need to get onto some form of distillation unit for treating pool water and river water - the river near home is actually a saltwater estuary.

I have it as a bleach substitute (it has a much longer shelf life than liquid bleach) and for nuking bugs in water. One of my main concerns about a grid down scenario is loss of sanitation systems, as I live in suburbia atm. This stuff should be a great help plus it should have barter value (although a decent sales pitch may be necessary).

Are a bunch of Brita filters worth mentioning also? They aren't really a prep, but the tap water here is blah.

Just lifestraws, water purification tablets and boiling (gas cooking) here.
I'd like to add something on a larger scale (not sure what yet) and get more lifestraws.

I forgot to mention - we have 3 Water BOBs. Not strictly water purification or filtration as per the thread subject, but handy for the short term nonetheless.
